Re: 2024 Suns General Offseason News

I think it would have worked better if they hadn't mixed the styles on the front. Maybe they could have used a six-pointed sheriff star?

And I hope the colors aren't quite this muted when they're revealed.

Re: 2024 Suns General Offseason News

We are incredibly lucky that Al, Jerry, Dick Van Arsdale and the Prosk are still here after all these years. I'm old and all I can remember is Al being the Voice of the Suns.

Here's to a speedy recovery Al, it wouldn't be the same without you.

6, 7, 8 & 9 are all secondary logos, 3 & 10 are wordmarks.

My favorite is number 4 (of course).

RIP Al Attles, coach of the 1975 champion Warriors team.

As a player Attles was known as "The Destroyer" and served as bodyguard for Wilt Chamberlain when opponents tried to provoke him to fight and get kicked out of games.

Also, the people who openly admit they didn't like him but had never watched him play, what are you even doing? People become fans for odd reasons sometimes, and their isn't a lot of logic in being "fanatics". You would think a great player like David Robinson with his record of service i...

It'd be cool if the whole stan culture online would die and people could just appreciate good basketball players.
It's been that way for as long as I can remember - Wilt, Erving, Magic, Bird, Jordan, Kobe, LeBron

Nurkic was the best rebounder in the league which this team doesn't really get anywhere else. Plus, he's the only real bulk we had to match up to the big centers in the league.

Good G League player, hasn't transferred over to the NBA. Probably should have stayed at Kentucky a couple more years.

Good to see a local guy getting a chance. (this year's Saben Lee!)

Re: Split said signing Tyus Jones was very threadworthy. Welcome to the thread!!

Frist off, as for the Beal trade conjecture - Beal isn't going anywhere that he doesn't want to go to. Maybe being the 6th man might sour him on player here, maybe not. But trading him will not be easy because he's overpaid and has that no-trade clause. Their best bet for a impactful trade would be ...

Re: 2024 Suns General Offseason News

This trade is going to affect the Valley Suns more than the Suns.

The Suns will save a little money, which is fine since neither is going to really contribute much of anything.

Re: 2024 Suns General Offseason News

I've read that Adams was actually going to declare hardship after his sophomore year at Oklahoma but when it was clear that the Suns (who chose John Shumate with the 5th pick) wouldn't be drafting him he chose not to enter the draft. Then in 1975 when it was apparent they would be able to select him...

Re: 2024 Suns General Offseason News

I think the real thing that is going unnoticed is the inability to do sign-and-trade deals. That's a big tool for teams over the cap looking to add players. The Suns, Bucks, Celtics and Timberwolves are limited by that and the inability to use trade exceptions. Trade exceptions are most valuable now...

Re: 2024 Suns General Offseason News

Well, sometimes you sign a CBA and while it guarantees more money to everyone, it also squeezes out some players who have to sign for the minimum. But that's usually player who don't have a lot of bargaining leverage to begin with. Tyus Jones is about the only one that I can think of who really got ...

Re: 2024 Suns General Offseason News

The second apron is doing exactly what most owners want it to do. Why would they want to change it? Just for a handful of teams over it or up against it to be able to add more talent/salary? That's exactly what it's designed to prevent. People are all for preventing the Lakers, Heat, Knicks or Warri...
