Re: Eric Bledsoe [RFA]

I admire the commitment to virtue. Bledsoe's begging for max, and McD is all "If you want me to put out like that you have to give me a ring first."

Re: Eric Bledsoe [RFA]

Refusing to give Bledsoe what he wants is the definition of being married? McD must be the wife.

Re: Phoenix Mercury appreciation thread

Looks like they're resting Diana Taurasi and Penny Taylor.

The Dream have lost five in a row. This should be considerably less epic than that Minnesota game.

Re: Phoenix Mercury appreciation thread

The Mercury beat New York last night, improving their record to 27-4. The remaining three games are all on TV.

Tonight they play Atlanta at 4:00 Arizona time. The game will be on FSAZ and NBATV.

Re: Suns News: The Offseason

Losing your starting position to TJ Warren isn't like losing it to Cal Ripken. You still get to play. Tucker can be effective as a starter or a reserve, so if Warren works well as a starter, why not?

Re: Eric Bledsoe [RFA]

Although it would be extremly stupid given his instability and the offer on the table, I think Bledsoe is going to take the QO. I think the fact Greg Monroe signed it yesterday increases the odds Bledsoe will. Bledsoe will turn down $12M/yr in favor of the QO because Monroe did? Not according to Mo...

Re: House approves lawsuit against President Obama

Oh, yippee. A Washington Post columnist crowing that Hillary Clinton was critical of Obama. She feels on foreign policy matters that Obama is far better than his immediate predecessor, but she'd be smarter than both. I'm willing to accept HRC as a credible foreign policy expert if you are, but I sus...

Re: Eric Bledsoe [RFA]

How does that meeting even go? "Eric, I want you to take the QO. It's a huge risk for you with no potential upside, but I want you to do it just to spite a franchise that you had a good relationship with before I got involved." "Sure, Rich, anything for you. That's what I'm here for.&...

Re: Eric Bledsoe [RFA]

I'm confident he won't take the QO. Let's look at the numbers. The Suns are offering 4/48. The QO is 1/3.7. If he takes the QO, he'd have to get a contract in 2015 that pays more than $44M over the first 3 years just to break even. That's basically max. The best case scenario for Bledsoe, IOW, is th...

Let's just hope he learns from the experience and it never happens again. Maybe he even helps others from letting it happen to them.
He has said all the same things you just said. Time will tell whether he follows up on it.

Re: Suns News: The Offseason

Two games is the standard for DUI. Three is pushing it, but so is "super extreme," so pushing the standards a little in this case is justified. Any more would probably provoke a confrontation with the players union.

Re: Eric Bledsoe [RFA]

Sarver should go on record saying the Suns won't match an offer sheet for Bledsoe that is over $50 million. Then let some team sign him for $51. At that point the Suns can match and we're done. Bledsoe is a free agent. No team can simply "sign him" for an amount he isn't willing to accept...

Re: House approves lawsuit against President Obama

remember, you guys still have 2 and a half years of obama. it will ONLY get worse. I don't understand. You're not American. OK. But what's getting worse? foreign policy, off the top of my head. You long for the glory days of Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld? How is foreign policy, of all things, getting worse?!

Re: Suns News: The Offseason

i bet he signs a one year mid level deal with a contender. which team needs a pg? NYK and MILwaukee. Actually any other team that extends an offer sheet must do two years at least, not including option years. So unless it's a team with cap room, you're talking a two year deal at mid-level, which le...

Re: Suns News: The Offseason

Trading Bledsoe is not a way out of the salary dispute because he'd have the same dispute with any other team. It's not like the Suns are beating offers off with a stick. Nobody seems to be trying to trade for him now any more than they were trying to sign him when they had cap room. Nobody wants hi...

Last night's game was on NBA TV. Their next game is Tuesday night at New York, which I think is not on TV. Wednesday night they play at Atlanta, and that game will be on both FSN AZ and NBA TV.

Phoenix Mercury appreciation thread

A hard-fought win with a dramatic finish over Minnesota last night improved the Mercury's record to 26-4, with four games to play. The record for victories in a regular season is 28, so the Mercury appear to be on the verge of making history. Go Mercury! (Note that the best winning percentage of all...
