Re: Suns Trade For Beal!

Regardless of the circumstances, it's easily one of the worst trades ever from a value perspective. There's not a chance in hell a GM like Ainge or Riley makes this deal.

Re: 2023 General Offseason/PostSeason League News

Proof that NBA players can be just as clueless as fans when it comes to this stuff.

Re: Suns Trade For Beal!

I hope someone has bothered to tell Ishbia that the apron penalties are not just financial. Not that he would even care... Everything I've heard recently indicates the second apron stuff won't matter for another two seasons and several teams are trying to stack these superstar loaded teams now beca...

Right. Washington can do much better, but Beal holds a lot of power. End of the day, I think he'd rathe be in Miami.
Nope. Wanted to be in Phoenix.
Absolute insanity. Ishbia is something else.

Re: 2023 Suns General Offseason/PostSeason News Thread

There’s a sliver of truth in these rumors, but the Suns are leverage right now and probably always were.

Re: 2023 Suns General Offseason/PostSeason News Thread

Right. Washington can do much better, but Beal holds a lot of power. End of the day, I think he'd rathe be in Miami. I think he would prefer the night life, staying in the Eastern Conference, and not sharing the backcourt with Devin Booker. I think the income tax break has more to do with desiring ...

Re: 2023 Suns General Offseason/PostSeason News Thread

That's right. I think it's far more likely Ayton would be moved for "spare parts" in a scenario where they acquired Beal.

But Ishbia is a wildcard. Are we sure he wouldn't be willing to pay for that roster?

Re: 2023 Suns General Offseason/PostSeason News Thread

https://twitter.com/ChrisBHaynes/status/1670153608611139584?s=20 I have a ton of skepticism about Beal, but his no trade clause is a tremendous piece of leverage for the team acquiring him. If Ishbones could somehow pull off a Booker/KD/Beal/Ayton core going into the next season, they'd be hefty fa...

Re: 2023 NBA Draft

There's an argument on both sides. I'll wait until training camp to judge how this roster is shaping out, and even then, I've always been in favor of Jones holding cards to deal before the deadline. As far as we know, he's not on the hook for the KD deal. Those big move seem to be on Ishbia's plate....

Re: 2023 NBA Draft

He's 18 and left Nigeria to start training in Hungary in 2018, of course there are some flaws in his game right now. The most likely successful outcome is that it takes a while for him to develop shooting and ball skills, so the bet now is on the athleticism and movement. I can envision him being v...

Re: Frank Vogel hired as new Coach

I feel like Young is going to be the odd man out. Vogel didn't pick him and was a competitive with him for the HC job. I wonder whether they will mesh or not. No way. He's the highest paid assistant in the league. That matters. Young will get a fair shot at it, and they'll move on next summer if it...

Re: 2023 Suns General Offseason/PostSeason News Thread

Feels like a leverage rumor. I don't believe the Suns involvement if it requires more than Ayton/Paul.

I think Beal wants to be in Miami.

Clearly their prior work together was a factor. Still pretty impressive to poach a guy from the Lakers staff.

Re: 2023 NBA Draft

He's definitely a project big and the NBA game will be way too fast for him now, but his movement leads me to believe there's a lot in his toolbox. His footwork is very promising at his size, and his patience to explode off of two feet around the rim indicates a keen sense of timing. He almost certa...

I know we’d all love Mark Williams, but if we do trade with Charlotte, Nick Richards is pretty good too.
Maybe.. OTOH, if they view both as relatively equal, it would be more financially prudent to invest in Richards.

If he’s anything like his father, Mike Jr. is priming the Warriors for several years of mediocrity.

I suppose the Warriors ownership will have less patience than Sterling.

Re: 2023 General Offseason/PostSeason League News

Ayton, Payne, Shamet for CJ and Valanciunas. Let’s gooo! (Queue up INF..) I don’t think Jonas can dependably play in the playoffs. I think there’s a buy low opportunity for CJ, although I have skepticism about his production curve. He’s a high IQ player who can thrive as a role player. A healthier ...
