Re: Around the League: 2018 Offseason

I remember a time when many of us (including myself) were keen on bringing in Thibs. Obviously, I'm glad we didn't.

Re: 2018 Suns Offseason News

Tyus Jones is everything we hoped Tyler Ulis would be, a high level backup who can occasionally fill in as a starter when needed.

I'd entertain the idea of trading for him with the Milwaukee pick, but I'd rather wait and see what Melton and Okobo show us in the short term.

Re: Phx-Suns.net Vet League is up and running

I think we should all agree that the rookie/vet thing won't happen. We seem to have trouble just filling up our league, so getting an additional 6-10 teams will probably not happen. Let's work on making the vet league the best it can be. I'm fine with that, but someone's already gone and started a ...

Re: Phx-Suns.net Vet League is up and running

I don't see the rookie/vet thing happening. That's kind of the problem. Everyone has a different idea or suggestion but not enough people can agree on it, so we'll end up with a 12/14 team snake draft like every other year. I think the only solution is to keep the league how it's always been for th...

Re: Phx-Suns.net Vet League is up and running

If we don't want to go Auction, how do people feel about a keeper league? You could do a 3 round penalty for keepers - meaning if you draft a player in round 12 this year and want to keep them, you lose your 9th round pick next year. That's probably not gonna work if we do the rook/vet league thing.

Re: Phx-Suns.net Vet League is up and running

Doing something simply because the way it's been done for 15 years isn't a convincing argument. Can you provide any other reason to support your opinion? I do things all the time simply because it’s the way it’s been done for years. It’s called religion. I don’t play fantasy basketball. Is it like ...

That sounds like a dynasty league in the making.

I kind of like the 14x14 format in this league. Offers something different without being really goofball...
I also prefer 14 teams over anything else as long as all the owners are active.

Re: Phx-Suns.net Vet League is up and running

Setting a custom draft order would be cool. Maybe allow people to pick their spot based on how they finished last year? Would take a bit of time to get everyone organized to do it. Two leagues again would also be great, but only if we can keep the vet league at a minimum of 12 teams. I find 10 or fe...

Re: Phx-Suns.net Vet League is up and running

I'd like to suggest reducing the number of required Center eligible players from 2 to 1 in the starting line up. It doesn't really make any sense to have 2 Center position slots with the least number of eligible players, but it's been the standard in Yahoo for as long as I can remember. We could add...

Sam Bradford should have been an upgrade over Stanton and gabbert.
That's a very, very low bar.

Re: 2018 Suns Offseason News

What about something like Chandler/Daniels and our unprotected 2nd rounder for Beverly/Boban/Wesley Johnson (who'd be waived)? This way we save them about $2M in salary and clear a roster log-jam for them in addition to the asset. One issue would be we'd almost certainly be an over-the-cap team to ...

Re: 2018 Suns Offseason News

If the Suns get away with only giving up a 2nd round pick for Beverly, I will be shocked. I wouldn't be shocked because I think that's the low end of his trade value and the Clippers don't have any leverage. I said a few weeks ago that giving up anything more than a 2nd rounder for him would be ove...

Re: Cardinals

I'm not sure how anyone could've expected this team to be good. An unproven coach with a below replacement level QB will never sniff anything close to .500.

If NBA 2K19 is any indication, Bender is going to be a monster this year. He came out with renewed intensity to start the season. ;)
We'd be talking about giving Bender a max contract here if he were half as good as he is on my 2K team.

I had a fifth metacarpal boxers fracture in high school after doing something dumb. Which was... In my case it was in college. I was upset and decided to take my anger out on an inanimate object. I punched a file cabinet. I don’t know what was in the cabinet, but I hit something a lot more solid th...
