Re: Suns sign Rubio

I appreciate the optimism, but people said the same thing last off-season. There were plenty of people here saying bring in Trevor was a really good signing and it would give us a big jump forward, coupled with a dominant 7-1 center and book a year older and... It was insane last year that we had n...

Re: Suns sign Rubio

This is the best roster we’ve had since we last made the playoffs. Breathe in some hope people. It’s been real sh!tty. We wont make the playoffs next season but maybe they will at least be playing - dare i say flirting - for it.

Re: Suns sign Rubio

If they won 30 games last year, they still would have trailed the 14th team by 3 games. Winning only 30 games will be a complete disaster, imo. A lot a things would have to go very wrong if that happened. They need to scaffold up each year. 30+, 40+, etc. learning to win and growing together. There...

Re: Suns News: 2019 Off-Season

Having TJ around would allow for the team to have the depth to sit Rubio in the event his shot isn’t falling and teams are able to exploit that. I don’t think it will be pervasive but something that good teams will run at us. The suns have shown to be a good team with TJ and Oubre playing alongside ...

Barkley and Marjele would be at the same table together. That would be my table.

Re: How many wins? Figuring total...w/ questions

Maybe efficient wasn't the right word. I just think having a PG to handle a majority of the time and take that pressure off Book will help him overall. He can maybe be more dangerous if the defense has to account for Rubio and he can just focus on his offense and getting open rather than handling t...

Re: Suns sign Rubio

I’m excited all around. Rubio and Ayton two man hame should be hard to cover. And open things up all around for cutters and screens. Monty better start working on his sets.

Re: NBA Summer League

Well before all that, Ayton has to develop elite skills as a center and make an impact on the actual game and not just put up empty stats. I think part of bringing in Baynes is to help Ayton learn how to alter shots on D, not only someone to bang with or to always chase blocks. Ayton needs to observ...

Re: NBA Summer League

I think the odds are he becomes a top 3-5 center. He needs to keep up his work ethic and desire to do develop a couple elite skills. You could see how fast the game was around him and difficult it was for him to adapt. That he had 2 amazing games against the Lebron and the Greek Freak is very encour...

Hasn't he already surpassed Greg Monroe? I don't think that's his floor.
Thats who he is so far. Greg Monroe hung 15 and 9 pretty consistently for several years while being trash on D. Ayton has way more upside but has a lot of growing to do.

Re: NBA Summer League

Doesn’t Doncic feel more like a Jones guy than Ayton? Nope. Jones strikes me as someone who would buy into Charles Barkley school of thought about Doncic: if he is able to have so much success overseas at such a young age, it must mean that the competition sucks and he isn't very good. It is still ...

Re: Around the League: The Off-season

There are a few actually. Rubio is a 10+ year vet with proven experience as a starter. Jones has averaged 17mpg mostly as a backup on bad TWolves teams and his shooting percentages aren't that far off from Rubio's. We are a team in desperate need of a steady hand at PG who can make the game easier ...

Re: Kelly Oubre Jr. Restricted Free Agent Watch

I like this deal. 2 years will keep him hungry since he will still be playing for a contract in the near future. If he isn't what we think he is we show him the door. Good deal. I feel relieved because it incentivizes in some ways for Bridges to be the starting 3 just knowing that Oubre isn’t a lon...

At one point will they start leaking their differences in the negotiations in the press and Booker starts chiming in? Another week or two? I just am tired of the same ugly news.

Re: Kelly Oubre Jr. Restricted Free Agent Watch

No way he would do that without testing market, both sides i guess playing dangerous game but Suns have better position. They did with Bledsoe too. Going to his barbers put him in a better position. McD was too much on the hunt for a deal that he wrecked the team. Dragic should have retired a sun a...

Re: Kelly Oubre Jr. Restricted Free Agent Watch

I’m all about NOT overpaying but they longer this goes on the worse it’s going to get. Phoenix is also not a preferred FA destination and I hope Jones remembers this. It’d be best not to call his bluff because this could end up being another Bledsoe situation really quickly. If kelly plays on a qua...
