His fake hustle bothers me. I think it can work to get some guys fired up and help, but he strikes me as a guy whose schtick works so much better on very good teams to make them better... not so much on teams trying to be good.
Truth.

Re: Suns News: 2019 Off-Season

I’d rather offer 80+ to Brogdan and pull him away from the Bucks and let Oubre walk. Brogdan will always be trade able for any team with cap space so long as he’s healthy. Bridges is capable to start and in my view has higher ceiling than Oubre.

Re: Suns News: 2019 Off-Season

A year from now we will be arguing about trading Booker because of his demand to leave for ambiguously good player who didn’t turn up in the 2019 draft and an expiring contract.

Re: Suns News: 2019 Off-Season

I wonder about ticket sales when booker wants a trade. Nobody is gonna bend over backwards to trade away any fair value for Book once he wants to leave. If DLo doesnt work out, he will be a decent trade chip. If Booker wants this, I would assume DLo wants it too.

Re: Grade the Suns' 2019 draft day

Worst case scenario, we just release him and eat the 7 million. Why? Despite his off-court problems, he doesn’t seem to be a locker room cancer. I see no problem with keeping him around on the end of the bench. You never know, a trade might materialize before the deadline in February. Sure, if he’s...

Re: Suns News: 2019 Off-Season

What are everyone’s thoughts on Saric? Is he a long term guy? How much would he cost in restricted free agency next year? Should we consider offering him an extension this summer? At what number would you be comfortable? I honestly don’t have a good read on his value. I heard talk of 15 million a y...

Re: Free Agent Targets

Here’s what I think we should do: 1. We gotta check on Brogdon and D-Lo. If they want to sign, I think you have to waive and stretch Tyler and make an offer. Both are restricted, D-Lo seems attainable as Nets have Kyrie/KD dreams. Brogdon seems unlikely to be let go by Milwaukee. Either scenario is...

Re: NBA DRAFT 2019 THREAD

Defending drafting Cam at #11 is like defending buying a hot dog for lunch for $20. We get it, you had a craving for a hot dog; that was what you really wanted for lunch. But you should have found a way to get it for less than $20, or at least should have gotten a really nice combo meal for your $2...

Re: NBA DRAFT 2019 THREAD

The scouting stuff is concerning and I heard the pod where they went off about our draft prep, or lack thereof, and only scouting one conference, maybe not doing homework on guys they should've been looking at. But along with scouting players also comes gathering info on other teams, who they're in...

We don't need another marginal PG eating up our cap space. We have too many mediocre or bad players as it is.
 no wait, that was last year’s main idea.

Re: Free Agent Targets

Is there capspace to sign Rubio and Oubre without stretching TJ?
Rubio and Saric would add good playmaking for booker and Ayton.
Benchwise, I’d actually be happy with having TJ off the bench playing two guard alongside Okobo, Bridges, CJ, Baynes.

Re: NBA DRAFT 2019 THREAD

I searched and didn't see the link come up but there's a piece on the Stepien about Cam Johnson you should all read: https://www.thestepien.com/2019/06/04/case-cam-johnson/ Interesting table in that article. Cam Johnson shot 46% from NBA range last year...tops in the ncaa. He also shot 50% from 25 ...

Re: Suns News: 2019 Off-Season

Jackson has to go. He waisted his talent on making poor lifestyle choices that detract from being competitive. Bridges is out working his ass off and JJ is mired in getting into trouble and train wrecking his life. Their should be a clause where your contract can be voided if you commit and are conv...

Re: NBA DRAFT 2019 THREAD

I can't find who said it, but someone yesterday compared Ty Jerome to Manu Ginobili. Obviously it wold be great to have just drafted a future hall of fame player, but I do see shades of Ginobili in Jerome with how he seemed to be savvier than his opponents in college. That was me. The plays he make...

Re: Free Agent Targets

Is it sad that I’m at the point that I hope we sign Rubio? I’ve been pretty against bringing him in, but if it keeps us from Joseph, I’m all in. No it’s fine. We need to scaffold up every year. They need to build a competitive culture and add every year to the roster. Small market teams spend too m...

Re: Grade the Suns' 2019 draft day

I’ll judge the draft based upon our free agent signings. JJ is probably sick of seeing gms over evaluate college players with little to show for it. This draft in particular pick values are skewed so he went with safe bets of getting us a good stretch 4 and the best shooters with his picks.

Re: Suns News: 2019 Off-Season

Thanks guys for the cap explanation. I’m guessing they’ll waive and stretch TJ in time for free agency? That’ll give us max money to throw at someone. No way they just bring back Oubre and call it good for the summer.
