Re: 2023 Free Agency Thread

We have a owner who is cheap and doesnt make any big moves and everyone complains. Except neither one of those were true. Sarver did open up a little last couple years, but I could say pretty confidently that if we had Sarver a KD and Beal deal would not have gotten don. He wouldnt have paid the lu...

Re: 2023 General Offseason/PostSeason League News

I think part of it for Hou is they have to use some cap space to be at 90% of the cap (required by the league).

Re: 2023 Free Agency Thread

I guess you could have 2 of Kyrie/Booker/Beal/KD on the floor at all times. Not sure how you'd stop that, but relying on minimum deals to do everything else seems kinda sus. We're already going to be using minimum deals to do everything else. We have a owner who is cheap and doesnt make any big mov...

Feel like we're gonna need a lot more than Yuta, KBD and Shreoder to fill out this roster.

Re: 2023 Free Agency Thread

He really doesn't make sense for the Suns anyway. Of all things we need, a 2-guard who's best skill (maybe only skill now?) is spot up shooting is probably the least pressing at the moment. I agree with you. At this point is there any major difference between EG and someone like Damion Lee? EG is b...

Re: 2023 Suns General Offseason/PostSeason News Thread

No because I believe the league has a "cap hit" for each empty roster spot until it is used, and with the cap hit from te empty rosters spots, even with minimum signings, you're over the 2nd apron.

Re: 2023 Free Agency Thread

I believe we still retain Bird rights since he was with his original team for 3 years (sticks with a player even when he gets traded). We just cannot match any offer and it limits us in what we can offer him as with Bird rights its a certain percentage increase from year prior.

I'd like to bring in Dennis Smith Jr., but I sense that he's looking for more security than what the Suns could offer since he was out of the league for a bit.
I like the idea of Dennis Smith too. Has some upside and seems to have improved as a player last year.

Re: 2023 Suns General Offseason/PostSeason News Thread

I see a lot of discussion dependent on the Suns being over the 2nd apron, but these articles say they are not following the official calculations of the salary cap numbers for the upcoming season. https://www.espn.com/nba/insider/insider/story/_/id/37910163/nba-free-agency-2023-which-teams-cap-spac...

Say what you want about Ayton, but he's never had a playoffs that bad.
Allen is 6th in TS% though ;)

Re: 2023 Suns General Offseason/PostSeason News Thread

Fair points Mori. Udonis Haslem might be an extreme example but CP was absolutely a liability on most nights. The game here or there where he had legs or could hit a J didnt outweigh the other aspects of his game. I guess my point was more of how the media acts like CP is still a really good player....

Re: All Things Ayton

I agree Jeremy. I dont think his role is or will be his problem. His problem is heart. He may be a grinder during off days I cant say one way or the other. But I see the results on the floor and its frustrating to say the least. You cant just look at stats with DA. Stats wise its hard to complain (o...

Re: 2023 General Offseason/PostSeason League News

I think Book, Beal and KD will bring the ball up at different times and initiate the offense, like they did in the playoffs.

I still think we need to add another PG though.

Re: All Things Ayton

2022 Ayton was mediocre at best. If thats what we're hoping for thats not a good sign. Like I said before...definition of insanity. Not sure what gives anyone any indication that Ayton will suddenly turn a corner and become a really good center. Hes gotten by on sheer talent up until now. Thats neve...

Re: 2023 Suns General Offseason/PostSeason News Thread

I dont know man. CP struggles to bring the ball up, has no legs most nights and grinds your offense to an insanely slow pace. Dont think its a high level anymore but just my opinion.
