Re: Suns News: October
i don't think the grizzlies will implode, but i also don't see that roster really improving much and taking the next step. i think it has plateaued and maybe, just maybe, they are ready to blow it up. most likely though they won't for at least another year or two. horford's health is too much of a c...

Re: Suns News: October
i'm a huge marc gasol fan. i think his style of play will carry into his early thirties, if not mid. i know that some on this board aren't as high on him as i am, but i think he'll help take us to the next level. having said that i don't see a way for the suns to get him... oh well.

i want to join in in thanking sose... and everyone on this board for giving me a place to talk basketball without having to deal with trolls.
am interested in the fantasy league... what are the rules and what gets one into the veteran group vs. the newbie league?

Re: Fandom Map
that's an interesting mentality... as a fan, i've moved around a fair bit since my phoenix days, but i still follow the suns and only the suns (for basketball anyway). i guess it's not quite the same when the team moves though. if the suns moved away i think i would still be a diehard fan. i may fee...

Re: Fandom Map
there's essentially no thunder fan in washington. that's really sad. Isn't KD from Washington? i meant washington state... if i were a sonics fan, even though the owners stole my team, i'd still root for the thunder. sorry for the confusion. but you are right, kd may be from DC... i'm not 100% cert...

[ Image ] nice photo shel... but this is what i mean. most of these players who are said to not be able to palm the ball, their hands are likely bigger than mine and i can palm it on a good day... the reason i say that kobe bryant can't palm isn't actually out of observation. i was at a photoshoot ...

musicals in china are a bit of a joke... but then this one might just be worth checking out, maybe for comical relief purposes, if nothing else.

Re: Around the League: September
I wonder if we're talking about the difference in palming a ball outside of a game versus palming it in a game situation like when dunking a basketball. i think most people who go up with one hand to dunk the ball don't necessarily need to palm it. but some players who have enough of a grip on the ...

Re: Around the League: September
kobe bryant can't either... a lot of these guys' hands aren't that big. when they say can't i think it means that they can't do it consistently for that to be a reliable weapon, vs. guys who can literally pick a ball out of the air (not intended for them) with one hand, like sabonis did that one yea...

Re: Best Backcourt in the NBA?
interesting... i had never read about that bit of paul's reputation. i was somewhat forgiving of him for anecdotal reasons, and felt that he was the prototypical point guard, able to really improve players around him, and for that i always had a lot of respect for him. always thought that he was mor...

Yeah, crap - looks like my nocturnal ass won't be getting much sleep today. Again. I'll be keeping eyes & ears open throughout for any word on the Morris twins' extensions, though..... swing, are you based in phoenix? just curious as i post from china and you and a couple of others are of...

Re: Best Backcourt in the NBA?
i'd like to understand the case for deron williams and joe johnson... not trying to be a dick, genuinely curious. I clicked the wrong one by accident. Sorry. I was going to choose "Other" if you consider KD a two, but I really think of him as a three although he plays like a 2 alot. Ah, m...

I'm really not sure how I feel about the whole situation. If he's going to leave the European leagues, it's nice to have guaranteed money for at least two years. So, that makes sense. I like what I saw of him in the World Cup but I'm not sure why we're bringing him on. We are so guard heavy already...

Re: Eric Bledsoe agrees to 5 year, 70 Million Contract Exten
everyone has a different way to deal with various moves the franchise makes. ultimately we are fans of this team, which is why we allow moves made by a sports franchise that has very little bearing on our daily lives (except if some of us work for the team or for the nba, of course) to cheer us up o...

Re: Eric Bledsoe [RFA]
maybe i'm thinking the supermax (derrick rose rule?) or something, but as i recall there's one deal per team that can be tied to a percentage of the salary cap? bledsoe was eligible for 5/84, which is significantly more than 5/70... let's say we give goran 5/75, that's still a ways away from the max...
