Re: Eric Bledsoe [RFA]

i know it's a bit off topic, but i'm not sure that goran is a max guy... he's great and has a wonderful attitude and has thus far said all the right things and i'd pay him at least as much as bledsoe and maybe slightly more just to show that appreciation, but i wouldn't max him.

Re: Best Backcourt in the NBA?

i'm curious about harrison barnes' game... had they traded thompson for klove, the defense at the power forward position would've been a wash as david lee was never pegged as a powerhouse defender... so iggy would slide over to the 2, and harrison barnes would get a crack at the starting 3 spot, wit...

Re: Best Backcourt in the NBA?

i picked curry and thompson I kinda feel that Thompson is getting (slightly) overrated real fast. It's an amazing shooting combo, but I just don't have any confidence that Golden State will go anywhere with those two as their best players. Both are excellent shooters, but it seems like in any given...

Year One: $13,000,000 Year Two: $13,500,000 Year Three:$14,000,000 Year Four: $14,500,000 Year Five: $15,000,000 yeah, read this in the standalone thread following my post. this set up, i simply do not understand. if there's anything about this contract that upsets me, it's that we didn't take adva...

Re: Eric Bledsoe agrees to 5 year, 70 Million Contract Exten

i posted in the other thread about this... i think the contract was a bit high but i'm more or less okay with it. one of my favorite quotes from my favorite comic strip, calvin and hobbes, sums this up rather elegantly: "a good compromise leaves both parties upset." (or something to that d...

Re: Divvying Up the Minutes

i think that maybe a couple of months into the season we are gonna know what we have on our hands, and certainly some of these assets are gonna get moved. if warren really is that good, i'm confident in hornacek that he'll get his share of minutes. i can understand some guarded pessimism towards McD...

Re: Best Backcourt in the NBA?

i picked curry and thompson, but if we are talking the entire back court rotation where we have thomas, then i'd have to go with the suns. while i like wall and beal, they need to succeed for a bit longer than half a season to convince me. here's hoping that we can better manage everyone's minutes w...

Re: Eric Bledsoe [RFA]

count me in the camp that's ... well, again, ambivalent on the contract. 14 is not terrible, no idea if it's front-loaded or if it has team/player options, but overall 5/70 is a lot more palatable than 5/84. indy mentions not wanting to pay 2 point guards 25-30 mil, but given that this is how we pla...

Re: Around the League: September

I wouldn't be opposed to that. Players probably wouldn't like it because they'd be unsure of what guaranteed amount they were going to be paid each year. But it'd be fair because the league and the players share in the risk and the reward. It'd also make contract negotiations simpler to understand;...

Re: Eric Bledsoe [RFA]

should there be any truth to the minnesota rumor, let me say that i am not all that interested in pekovic... i read somewhere, may have been a kevin love article, that pekovic's "opponent field goal percentage at the rim" is bottom 3 in the league. that's definitely not something i want to...

Re: Eric Bledsoe [RFA]

to jump in on the discussion a bit late... i'm fairly ambivalent on the bledsoe situation, other than to agree with everyone by saying "i hope this gets resolved soon." as for whether he gets booed when he comes back into town, should he get moved this off season, my feeling is that he wil...

btw, regarding the ferry situation, am i the only one who thinks that the "African" comment is a reference to nigerian scammers? not that i condone such comments, or, as many have pointed out, even understand it at all.

Re: Eric Bledsoe [RFA]

I moved on from Ilyasova; no need to discuss that any further. The only guarantee in the group of cap holds is Dragic. But I don't see point in counting the others as out the door. Again, it is all about who is available, how much they'll command, and if they want to play for Phoenix. It also depen...

Re: Suns News: September

Still, the best case scenario is a happy EB on the Suns with a 54 million or less contract. Is there something magical about the 54 million number or is it just an upgrade over 48? I'm not trying to be sarcastic... just wondering where the new number came from. If EB takes the QO and then gets a ma...

when i was living in phoenix i used to turn on the TV and mute the sound and then listen to the radio with Al McCoy... he too symbolized the suns for me, even more so than KJ/Hornacek/Barkley/Nash...
