Re: Tsunami Papi is Back! - Kelly Oubre Jr. Signs for 2 Years, $30 Mil

Seems like the plan is to try to get the team good enough in the next two years to make the playoffs. Develop Booker and Ayton into All-stars. And keep enough cap flexibility to go after a 3rd guy. And hopefully Jerome and Cam turn into serviceable players that we can trade if need be.

He did have Bledsoe, Goran and IT, but squandered those too.
None of those guys were stars. His biggest fault was thinking that they could even be. If he had his eyes more open we would've had our third guy in Fox.

Re: Suns News: 2019 Off-Season

https://twitter.com/theIVpointplay/status/1145808033945047040 In McD's defense, he never had Ayton, only Booker. And one star isn't enough to build around. You need at least 2. So I get why he kept swinging for the fences with the draft. I still think his draft record looks worse because we never i...

Re: Suns sign Frank Kaminsky

Also Meh. We’re going to miss Holmes. Kaminsky is a poor mans Saric. Don’t know why we needed both. We need some toughness and rebounding. Was hoping we’d go after someone like faried or cauley-Stein. Or we should’ve just kept Holmes. Typically bench players that play less minutes are a poor man's ...

Re: Suns sign Rubio

It's not a bad route to take. I just thought we could've had our core set in place with DAR/Booker/Oubre/Ayton/Mikal. Maybe the FO still thinks Okobo or Jerome or maybe this Lecque kid is the PG answer down the line.

Re: Free Agent Targets

I'm curious, I know some of you don't want Russell. But who would you rather get. When I look there are no options next year in Free Agency. Things get a bit more interesting in 2021. But I still don't see anyone available that's clearly better than Russell. He's probably the 8-10 best pg in the lea...

Re: Suns News: 2019 Off-Season

Randle in my opinion would be the perfect PF next to Ayton. He's someone who can crash the glass on defense. Too many times last year Ayton would cause the miss only to have someone else get the offensive rebound and put it in. Then on offense, he can operate out to the 3pt line, and can drive from ...

I think Houston had many chances to close out this game. But they kept playing that stupid iso ball. I'm glad it failed, so it will discourage others from trying it.

Re: Suns News: Week 26 4/8-4/9

Still, it seems very strange that they would give Griffin permission to talk to him. It's not like he's an assistant, he's the head trainer. If they don't want him anymore, then fire him. I'm starting to feel like Jones agrees to way too many favors for too many people. I think Jones has to do a lo...

Re: Suns News: Week 26 4/8-4/9

Uh oh. If we lose Aaron Nelson, that's a huge blow to our team. Our training staff is literally the only thing we have that you could argue is the best in the league. I know we have that reputation, but is it still true? I felt like we had a ton of injuries this year that seemed avoidable. But it’s...

Re: Suns fire Head Coach Igor Kokoskov

Biggest issue I had with Igor was that he wasn’t able to give the young guys any confidence. It felt like that was all Oubre once he got here. Pretty much everyone besides Booker kept playing as if they were constantly afraid to make a mistake. That’s the one thing Watson was good at, too bad he was...

Re: Draft, trades, FA, fantasy rosterbation rebuild

The crazy thing is, had we better allocated the $15M we rushed to pay Ariza, we probably could have fielded a team that could have hit 30 wins. For example, imagine if we have Randle $10M and Napier $3M. Or even retained Elfrid. I’m of the opinion that Napier (or Payton)/Booker/Warren (or Bridges)/...

Re: Suns name James Jones as GM, new hierarchy

I think this team could easily win 30 games as is if they’re healthy. They would greatly benefit, if they could just work on their shooting. Someone who can attack and shoot at the PG spot would also help a lot. It was just way too easy to double Booker and recover when he passed out last year, main...

Re: Suns name James Jones as GM, new hierarchy

The way I see it, McDonough was a glorified scout. He was there to help us draft well while we tanked. He did ok, I thought he got screwed over by Sarver's fascination with Lebron (I think he thought if he had enough of Lebron's peoples he could get a sitdown with him during free agency), I think th...

Re: Game Day: Pelicans (32-47) @ Suns (18-61), Fri 4/5/19

I have said it for years and I continue to say it. Dragan Bender is good. He is a legit NBA player who deserves to stay here and be in our rotation. I know he has big ups and downs and sometimes has those games where he just disappears. But the dude is barely 21 and has been stuck on a horrible tea...

If there was any doubt why Mcdonough was fired, it's clearly picking Bender. I bet there are at least 10-12 g-league players that are better than him.
