Re: 2018 Phoenix Suns Pick Watch

Can someone explain why everyone thinks Warren is better as a 6th man? To me, thats generally been a role for a guy who can come in and get buckets for the team without help from others. I don't think that is Warrens forte. Am I missing something here? Yeah I don't get the 6th man role either. TJ i...

Re: NCAA / FBI Probe and the NBA Impact

I don't see why it would have any NBA impact other than perhaps hastening the end of the ludicrous age limitations currently in play. There might also be some uncomfortable conversations with the IRS for those families that took cash and failed to declare.

Re: Around the League: Week 19 2/19-2/25

Grow a pair, mix it up, and find a way to discourage coming in as a bottom 3-5 team. Reward teams that are middle of the pack instead of dead last, so teams are fighting to at least be average. I think the league should be using money to solve this situation. Put an end to the lottery, just use rev...

Re: Around the League: Week 19 2/19-2/25

To me, trading away players and/or emphasizing young players is more like "Iron Chef." Here, chef, make something delicious (a win) with only these few ingredients (players). The chef is still trying his/her darnedest to make a great meal, they just have some constraints on them. And ofte...

Re: Around the League: Week 19 2/19-2/25

They already allow it. It happens every year. Not speaking about it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. I don't think we're talking about the same thing. The league is currently allowing teams to do what they believe is in their best long-term interest (trading away veterans for future help, resting vet...

Re: Around the League: Week 19 2/19-2/25

Come on he said what everyone thinks and does. The Suns openly tanked last year. If they have a problem with it it’s on them to change the rules. What the Suns did last year was really no different than what's been done for decades now (resting old players and injury-risk veterans) but at no time d...

Re: Around the League: Week 19 2/19-2/25

Things are not going well for Dallas atm. Cuban was just fined for his comments on tanking. What did he say? he told players tanking was their best option 600k is an awfully large penalty for speaking what many teams are obviously thinking every year but being professional and responsible is the ro...

Re: 2018 NBA Draft Thread

The unfortunate thing is, like many of the NBA's worst teams, we really need 2-3 of these young draftees to become good. Somehow getting both Ayton and Trae/Doncic, say, would be a huge step for us. But of course that isn't how the draft and lottery work. It *could* have worked that way, though, if...

Re: 2018 NBA Draft Thread

As a UA fan, I can't help but like the idea of drafting Ayton. He has a solid floor, roughly that of a rich man's Greg Monroe, but I'm unconvinced that he well ever rise much above that floor. I think he will definitely rise above that floor. Monroe can barely move, and Ayton is an extreme athlete....

Re: 2018 NBA Draft Thread

Trae having another really bad shooting game. I have a hard time seeing him go top 5. Orlando is the only team I think that would take him that high. Maybe Cleveland. IMO every team that passes on Trae will regret it. He's a slightly built freshman, carrying almost the entire offensive load for a m...

Re: Your Top Five for #4

I'm still trying to sell myself on the SFs available & I just can't. I want to like Tatum & Jackson bec I do think we end up with one of them but I'm a big fan of Warren. He improved so much defensively last year. If he adds a 3-point shot he will be an every day SF for someone if not us. I...

Re: Your Top Five for #4

In 15 years, when you look back at the names expected to go in the lottery this draft, I'd be very surprised if you ranked them by career and Markkanen didn't finish in the top 5. He may not have the highest ceiling but he has a very high floor and with his high BBIQ, work ethic, mobility, ability ...
