Re: Suns News: 2019 Off-Season

Knicks won't spend their money him. I think the Clips, Pels or Kings could make a play for him. I would be worried about the Kings out of that group. I think the Clips and Pels are both too smart to overpay Oubre. the Kings would totally spend money unwisely. And as much as I appreciate the fire an...

Re: Free Agent Targets

His fake hustle bothers me. I think it can work to get some guys fired up and help, but he strikes me as a guy whose schtick works so much better on very good teams to make them better... not so much on teams trying to be good.

Re: Suns News: 2019 Off-Season

Again, I think 20-24 is the market if a team really wants him. I think matching over 20 is tough for us. We still have Bridges and Cam now, but would he take less to stay here with Book? https://twitter.com/TheMontyShow/status/1143973737911296000 I am wondering if that is just noise the Suns are pu...

Re: Suns News: 2019 Off-Season

Does having Cam on the roster make it easier to let Oubre walk? I know I'd be willing to let him go, but I don't think Sarver thinks that way. I am betting Jones doesn't think that way. Oubre is someone he actually brought in on his watch, and was a fan favorite, and seems to be one of the only guy...

Re: Around the League: The Off-season

We could have drafted the Rookie of the Year, and we could have signed the Coach of the Year. But we blew it both times. Do I have that right? Okay, carry on. We had zero chance of hiring Bud. He had his pick of rosters. You would be stupid to pick our roster (and ownership group) over the Bucks.

Re: Free Agent Targets

They probably have agreed to a number already, I'm guessing. I wouldn’t be surprised and I’d guess it’s a little higher than his true value to keep him from exploring other options. I see his value 12-14 and that means we’re probably paying 14-16 That's what I was thinking, too. I would be happy to...

Re: Free Agent Targets

I think we're undervaluing the potential of Russell...a starting lineup of... Russell Booker Ayton Saric Oubre ... sounds pretty interesting. What would be the prediction on W/L if we followed through on that? Stretch Tyler, etc., sign Russell...what does that get us? I think with that lineup we pu...

Re: Suns News: 2019 Off-Season

What are everyone’s thoughts on Saric? Is he a long term guy? How much would he cost in restricted free agency next year? Should we consider offering him an extension this summer? At what number would you be comfortable? I honestly don’t have a good read on his value. I heard talk of 15 million a y...

No question H***y is number one for me. The towel to the coaches face and the hip check seal the deal.
When I read the question, I think about what they did as suns, so I keep the hip check out of the H***y bucket. I think I would go with Keef.

Re: Grade the Suns' 2019 draft day

In general you don't have to package picks to get rid of actual productive players like Warren. You have to include a pick when they are dead weight, salary ballast, when they just eat up cap space. Indefensible that we had to throw in our pick to get him out. The thing we have to remember, is hard...

Ty can end up Nash or Casey Jacobsen. Who knows whether Jarett Culver will end up Brandon Roy or Julian Wright.
I'll go ahead and end the suspense for you: Ty Jerome will not be as good as Steve Nash and Jarrett Culver will be better than Julian Wright.

Re: Suns News: 2019 Off-Season

https://twitter.com/theivpointplay/status/1142187322621829120?s=21 Does anyone think we’ll be able to move Jackson easily? I can see us moving him in August when teams have struck out and have cap space remaining, but then most FA’s will have signed. If we are hoping to sign a PF, PG, and a SG for ...

Who the heck is Meth? I see people saying "meth" all the time. Is this a nickname I missed during the season and why did someone start getting called meth? Seems like a bad nickname to have.
Tyler. Because people say he looks like Steph Curry on meth. it is awful

Re: Warren, #32 pick to Pacers for cash

I am assuming that the Pacers were one of the only teams that were willing to take on a 36M contract without giving anything back. They absolutely were, obviously. But if a player is not an asset, you don't take him into your cap space without more compensation than #32. They even sent PHX, which c...

Re: Suns News: 2019 Off-Season

It is crazy to me how different these look on paper:

Code: Select all

A	->	B	->	C
TJ Saric Saric
#6 Baynes Baynes
#32 #11 Cam Johnson
MIL 2020	#24 Ty Jerome
		3.1M 3.1M
I actually like A to B. And pretty much hate B to C (especially if we buy out Baynes)

Okobo is guaranteed 1.4 this year and Melton is the same. But Melton's next year is the qualifying offer and Okobo has 2 more (but non-guaranteed)

Re: Suns News: 2019 Off-Season

Nailed it. As I pointed in another post, we need to get rid of Meth, Jackson, Okobo, Melton and renounce to everybody but Oubre to be looking at roughly 27M in cap space, enough for a max offer sheet. The it is the room exception (~5M) and vet mins. I am trying to find out from Larry Coon if we can...

Re: Suns News: 2019 Off-Season

You know way more about the cap than i do, so forgive the question. Why couldn't he be traded last night? The uncertainty of whether or not he still had a remaining year on his deal. ah thought you meant there was some type of rule against it. If that is what you meant, there was zero uncertainty. ...

Re: Suns News: 2019 Off-Season

Everyone knew he would pick it up, so it doesn't prevent him from being traded. I don't think it hurt the Suns at all to wait until today. Waiting until the last possible day would have been much worse. It prevented him from being moved last night. You know way more about the cap than i do, so forg...

Re: Suns News: 2019 Off-Season

Tyler just exercised his option https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1142146889988673537 The day after the draft is kind of a dick move. Seems like it was done specifically so they couldn't trade him on draft night. Everyone knew he would pick it up, so it doesn't prevent him from being traded. I don...
