Re: First Round: Toronto Raptors (3) vs. Brooklyn Nets (6)

It seems like everybody is picking Brooklyn in this one. I picked them, too, but it was partly out of laziness. I don't really know the Raptors that well, so I just assumed they'd roll over. I heard some stats that they lose most of their close games because they don't have a real go-to scorer. But ...

As usual, INF is right on. They should keep as many talented rookies on the roster as they reasonably can.

I dislike almost everything about the new uniforms, except if the alternative is to wear an orange uni. Orange ones are my least favorite, regardless of design.

Re: Phoenix Suns 2013-2014: Year In Review

It's the Aaron Brooks for Dragic and a 1st rd pick trades that set teams back.
Ugh, can you believe how bad that trade was?? It still angers me. (And, to be fair, I supported it at the time. I didn't realize how far Aaron Brooks had fallen.)

Re: Phoenix Suns 2014: Offseason Moves

I think the Thibodeau system is much like the D'Antoni system in that if you take a guy out of that system after he looked great in the system for several years, suddenly the guy is lost and worthless. The system either burns guys out or uses guys so well that their value out of it is diminished. I ...

Re: Suns News: Week of 4/14-4/20

Ring- I can understand wanting to make a move at the deadline. But I didn't want to give up a 1st for a rental on Gasol. I have no idea why the Lakers didn't trade him other than the fact that they were demanding a 1st. I'd rather not make a move then overpay...But I can understand the reasoning be...

I would be okay with it as long as somebody pulled Dragic aside and told him that he's due for similar money when his contract is up for renegotiation. But that also raises the question of whether we want a $25m+ backcourt.

Re: Game Day: Grizzlies (48-32) @ Suns (47-33) , Mon 4/14/14

My biggest concern about signing Bledsoe is, if we pay him market value, he'll immediately be making almost double what Dragic is making. And I think that sends a bad message. In what way is/was the contribution of Bledsoe twice as much as that of Dragic last season, or going forward?? Dragic was th...

Re: Next Moves

I really dislike Westbrook. I know it's a little silly, but I'd much rather have Dragic than Westbrook on our team, and that's even before you start to consider salary. But stats don't really back me up on that one. It's a sentimental preference, a homer pick.

It looks like Al Jefferson went down with a knee injury tonight. OOF. Wow, anything can and will happen in an NBA season. I feel bad for the Bobcats. So with that in mind, I hope the guys take it easy and mostly just let the bench and rookies have a ton of minutes.

Re: Game Day: Grizzlies (48-32) @ Suns (47-33) , Mon 4/14/14

I have a feeling that there is going to be more turnover on the roster than we are seeing right now. I hope so. I know this was a feel good season and everyone all giddy, but the Suns don't have a foundation for a championship team, they can't defend, they don't have a paint presence on offense, th...

Re: Next Moves

I say throw anything and everything at Minnesota for Kevin Love. Make them an offer they can't refuse. All four 1st rounders, and any player(s) they want other than Dragic. Just do it. He's worth it. I know that's steep, but you can't just steal a superstar for peanuts. We'd make the leap if we had ...

I like both Len and Goodwin as far as potential goes, but I'm not sure where we'll find the minutes to give them. We already have a pretty deep rotation and I don't expect us to lose many guys from that rotation. I hope we'll find a way to play them at least somewhat consistently, particularly Len.

Bill Simmons and Jalen Rose of Grantland are currently doing a series of playoff preview videos. They did a whole video on the surprising season the Suns have had (under the assumption that we'd make the playoffs; oh well). Still a nice watch:

Oof. Randolph and Gasol are such giant beasts down low. We don't have anybody even remotely capable of stopping them. And Mike Miller's corpse comes back to life, too? Ugh.
