Re: The 2021 Suns Offseason

I feel like Shamet could get a 4 yr $30-40mil deal while Cam gets 4yrs $70-75? Both are kind of hard to gauge because Shamet is a borderline starter who'll be coming off the bench for us and also hasn't really solidified himself in the league just yet. He could bet on himself breaking out in a benc...

Re: The 2021 Suns Offseason

Would love to sign Shamet. He looks like a real steal so far. But I wonder what that would do for our ability to retain Cam Johnson when the time comes. I think keeping Cam long term is super important.

Re: Suns Sign Bridges to Extension

Mikal is a great guy and somebody I really like rooting for. It makes me really happy that he's going to be here for years to come. I feel like with Booker, Bridges, and (knock on wood) Ayton as a core, we can be a good team for a long time. I will especially feel that way if we're able to keep some...

Re: Suns Sign Bridges to Extension

Very happy with this deal. Bridges deserves the money assuming he keeps working hard and getting better. If anything this is a slight underpay relative to what he might have fetched on the open market. Glad he wanted to stay here and that they got the deal done. I'm reading that the deal is probably...

Re: 2020 Election Thread

I don't think Carter was a great President, but Carter lost in '80 partly because Reagan illegally cut a deal so that Iran wouldn't release hostages before the election, which made Carter look bad. https://jacobinmag.com/2020/01/ronald-reagan-october-surprise-carter-iran-hostage-crisis-conspiracy ht...

Re: All Things Ayton

Side note…is there a reason you can’t agree to an extension during the season? Is it just to avoid the contract stuff while the season is ongoing? I mean, yeah, you can wait until the absolute last minute to sign the extension, sure. But what message does that send? If you were working at your job ...

2021-22 NBA Season Predictions

Here's the thread where we can predict the regular-season records of every team. I'll go first: East: 1 Bucks 2 Hawks 3 Heat 4 Nets 5 Pacers 6 76ers 7 Bulls 8 Hornets 9 Celtics 10 Knicks 11 Magic 12 Pistons 13 Cavs 14 Wizards 15 Raptors Analysis: I think the Bucks will have a championship swagger th...

Re: Around the League: Preseason

These teams that keep cutting Chriss are teams that desperately need competent big men. If he were decent, they'd have kept him.

Re: 2020 Election Thread

Yes, the poor and middle class along with the country really flourished under Carter. If only we did things differently. How about under Clinton, who actually balanced the budget and had a surplus? Under Obama, who saved us from the 2008 crash caused by the horrendous GW Bush? Economy seems to do w...

Just awful. British politicians make themselves available to their constituents much more than US ones, but they shouldn't be be to feel threatened at every public assistance. Do they yet know the motives of the killer?

Re: All Things Ayton

I just don't see any way that Bridges gets a max contract. He's like a 4th or 5th piece for a contending team. I love the guy, but he isn't a max player. And I really don't think other teams think he is one, either.

Re: All Things Ayton

Bridges has been more consistent, but Bridges has never played even close to as well in a big situation as Ayton did during this past season's playoff run. If Bridges had ever been as impactful and dominant as Ayton was during that run, it might be different. But Bridges seems to be showing that he ...

Re: Weekly News Threads

I would be willing to be part of a rotation of making weekly threads as long as I didn't have to do it every week. Maybe if we can get 4-5 of us on the list or more, it would only be once a month or less that each person had to handle it. Does that sound good?

Re: 2020 Election Thread

The GOP (with a huge help from the media) has done a good job in making it so that the only thing people know about the infrastructure and BBB bills are the $3.5 trillion cost. They're good at negative messaging and smart to pick up on this easy-to-remember way to criticize the Biden bills.

Re: 2020 Election Thread

Why do trillions of dollars of spending scare Republicans, but trillions of dollars of tax cuts to rich billionaires and corporations don't? Aren't both equally irresponsible? How is cutting millionaires' / billionaires' taxes helpful for you and me and other everyday Americans?

You just knew a portion of this fanbase was going to be shocked to learn McGee was a high-skill, high-IQ player. He always has been.
He got made fun of a lot on "Shaqtin' a Fool" for making mistakes. I bet a lot of fans around the NBA (falsely) think he's a bit of a doofus.

Re: Around the League: Preseason

I don't think the Sixers should play Simmons. He's going to dog it like Harden did, and then his trade value will drop. I think they should sit him and just wait for the best trade to come along. The guy has said he'll never play there again, he's got his house for sale. You have to trade him. I kno...
