Re: 2017 Suns NBA Draft (4th, 32nd, 54th)

You don't want to tip your hand too soon. Build the roster under the radar, collect assests, develop those assests, and prepare to strike when no one is looking. Everyone is trying to figure out what Phoenix is doing, but most will admit that they have a collection of nice young pieces. If they cou...

Re: Your Top Five for #4

Here is how I envision the top 8 producing 5 years from now: Fultz - 24/5/7 with 1.5 steals on .48/.38/.78 shooting splits Jackson - 18/8/5 with 2 steals and 1 block on .50/.35/.70 shooting splits Ball - 15/7/10 with 1.5 steals on .52/.40/.80 shooting splits Fox - 20/4/7 with 2 steals on .46/.33/.7...

What about Bill Laimbeer?

Chris Dudley shot 50% from the line. If he had any game on offense, I imagine he'd have been very well thought of.

Re: Game Day: Suns (22-49) @ Nets (14-56), Thurs 3/23/17

I didn't watch but this was quite the stinker. This is the most outright tank job I've seen in all my years as a Suns fan. I think it's pretty clear that our FO loves the top of this class in a way they did not love last year's. The way Marquese is playing, he's pulling right up next to Booker as t...

Re: 2017 NBA Draft Prospect Discussion

That's a great breakdown on Ball. I like BBall Breakdown quite a bit. I'm not worried about Ball's ft%. It's actually not bad for a college freshman. I'm only a little worried about Ball in the pick and roll. As the coach points out, UCLA doesn't practice that play, and they almost never run it in ...

Sure would be funny if the Pelicans traded for Boogie but we ended up with him.

Ouch.

Re: 2017 NBA Draft Prospect Discussion

I think we have enough talent to move confidently forward to the next stage in our rebuilding process - trades, free agency, competition. I like our young players a lot, but I don't really agree with this. I think this is a top-heavy league, and you need 2-3 real studs / stars to be a great team. I...

Re: 2017 NBA Draft Prospect Discussion

I disagree with this. I think we have a young core that can hold down the 4-5 spot in the west for a few years without any major additions. We're going to have lots of chances to push this team over the edge with trades, free agency and future draft picks. I'm not too worried about the downside ATM...

Re: 2017 NBA Draft Prospect Discussion

My current worry is that our recent play pushes us out of the top 5 into the range where the 2 best players are Monk & Markkanen. Both play positions where we have good young players in Booker & Chriss/Bender right now. Does McDonough ransom the pick, go BPA, or reach for a player like Will...

It would take some cajones for McDonough to select Robert Williams. From what I can tell Williams is an athletic freak that needs serious work on big man fundamentals. He would be an interesting player to pair with Chriss & Bender though. I think in a sense these two videos illustrate where he'...

Re: Game Day: Celtics (40-22) @ Suns (20-42), Sun 3/5/17

A few thoughts: - You don't pass on a prospect of Fultz's (and maybe Ball's) caliber because you have a PG rotation of Bledsoe/Ulis. That's like Milwaukee passing on Chris Paul because they had TJ Ford. Agreed, but if there is a prospect at another position who is at the same level as Fultz or Ball...

Re: Game Day: Celtics (40-22) @ Suns (20-42), Sun 3/5/17

Is it just me or is Eric Bledsoe being incredibly under appreciated these days. His drive to the rim at the end of the Boston game was the perfect choice and play. I think he's gotten a lot smarter and more focused, in addition to becoming a much more well-rounded player. I don't see any reason not...

Re: Game Day: Celtics (40-22) @ Suns (20-42), Sun 3/5/17

Draft for talent, trade for need. With almost an entire rotation consisting of recent draft picks, I think we've about reached the limit of this philosophy. If Markkannen is the BPA, do you draft a THIRD rookie PF in a row, or do you trade down, or do you *gulp* take the second-BPA? Personally, I t...

Re: Game Day: Celtics (40-22) @ Suns (20-42), Sun 3/5/17

I think the chance of Fultz or Ball is out the window at this point barring a lottery miracle as they will most likely go #1 and #2, unless Josh Jackson is a surprise pick at 1 or 2. If I'm the Suns, I'm going best player available that is NOT a 2 guard (Booker). We can work around anything else vi...

I like Robert Williams. I don't know what's between his ears, but if he's cool upstairs that's my guy ATM.

Not too keen on drafting a PG unless it's Fultz. Ulis deserves his shot.

Re: Suns News: Week 19 2/27 - 3/5

I'm so mixed on McD. He's done some good things but I think the bad outweighs the good here. Trading the Lakers pick is still absolutely unforgivable to me. I really don't think there's enough positives on his résumé that says he deserves to be kept on as GM BUT...I don't trust Sarver at all in fin...
