Free Agent Targets

That’s true if Kyrie/KD sign right away. If they take their time, Brooklyn will hold onto the rights. We’d need to move fast as I think putting pressure on them before Kyrie/KD decide is the best option. They won’t match a Russell offer when they still don’t know Kyrie/KD plans. To do that we need ...

Re: Free Agent Targets

I think it's still tough in the West, with what would be still a young team in its first season together with a new coach. On paper, yea I think we'd arguably be more talented than a team like the Spurs, Clips (this year's version) and Thunder. Does that mean we'd be better? Not necessarily. If we ...

I think he’s saying Russell is better at everything other than shooting
Ah, but he is saying that he's only good at spot up shooting?

Re: Suns News: 2019 Off-Season

But on this team I think Russell is a much better fit. We need a guy to handle the ball and run the offense so that we don't have to watch Point Booker all game any more. We need a guy who will go get his own shot, drive to the basket, pull up, and who can also take a pass and hit an open shot. Rus...

Re: Suns News: 2019 Off-Season

If we sign Joseph to a 2 year 15 million dollar deal, I’ll be underwhelmed, but that would be a fine contract. Just don’t sign any of these mediocre options to deals longer than 2 years. Why??? Tyler Johnson is better than Joseph at just about everything. Whoever we sign legitimately needs to be be...

Re: Free Agent Targets

In any case, Dedmon is a player that fits perfectly here. Rim protection, rebounding and athleticism on defense, while also being a space provider on offense (38%3pt on 3 attempts over 25mpg). He is exactly what you need alongside Ayton-Booker, and I'd make a considerable effort to get him. Having ...

Re: Suns News: 2019 Off-Season

Tyler Johnson, if he can get back to his MIami shooting numbers, is much better than anything being rumored so far save Brogdon/Russel who are both pipe dreams. I expect him to settle somewhere around 43-45 from the field and mid to upper 30s from 3. Much better than Rubio or Joseph and he takes car...

Re: Suns News: 2019 Off-Season

It is almost as if Ryan is still the GM. How is Johnson going to get on the floor to even have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact? Is he going to play the 4?! That is going to go as well as playing Ariza and Warren at the 4. Yes, I think he'll essentially play behind Saric as constructed c...

Re: Whom to pick at 6

I gotta say, in all the draft coverage I grew more fond of Coby White. I just really liked his attitude. He gave great interviews and seemed to be a thoughtful and emotional young man. I also liked his floor leadership. I have a feeling guys will like playing with him. You listen to that Cam Johnso...

Re: NBA DRAFT 2019 THREAD

I really enjoyed the Burns & Gambo interview with Cam Johnson. He's the most well spoken draftee for the Suns in a long, long time.

5th largest city in the country and we're somehow small market.
We don't spend like one. I'm not sure what the local tv contract is for the Suns but it must not be that great.

Re: NBA DRAFT 2019 THREAD

(Free Agent PG) - Ty Jerome - Melton? Booker - Tyler Johnson Kelly Oubre - Mikal Bridges Dario Saric - Cam Johnson DeAndre Ayton - Aron Baynes I really like this second unit on paper. A couple of guys that can really shoot it. A couple of guys that defend their butt off. One guy that mauls dudes. R...

Re: NBA DRAFT 2019 THREAD

I've had a little more time to sit with yesterday's events. I'm still not thrilled with how the day unfolded. It was and still is perplexing. Now that we see a plan unfolding it does seem to be a little less so. The weirdest thing is that I like all the players we drafted. In a vacuum I think Cam Jo...

Re: Free Agent Targets

The logic doesn't make sense. If we aren't pursuing Rubio because of his lack of shooting why would we go after Joseph?

Joseph 41/32/70
Rubio 40/31/85!

Plus you get better defense and better ball movement with Rubio. I'm not advocating either but rather I'm pointing out the lack of logic at play.

Re: Suns News: 2019 Off-Season

Nailed it. As I pointed in another post, we need to get rid of Meth, Jackson, Okobo, Melton and renounce to everybody but Oubre to be looking at roughly 27M in cap space, enough for a max offer sheet. The it is the room exception (~5M) and vet mins. I am trying to find out from Larry Coon if we can...

You know way more about the cap than i do, so forgive the question. Why couldn't he be traded last night?
The uncertainty of whether or not he still had a remaining year on his deal.

Everyone knew he would pick it up, so it doesn't prevent him from being traded. I don't think it hurt the Suns at all to wait until today. Waiting until the last possible day would have been much worse.
It prevented him from being moved last night.
