Re: Around the league: June 2014

I can imagine Riley and his face getting red, veins bulging out screaming at them to take less because they shouldn't be pussies to try to win a title in frustration.

Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency

I tend to think that Hayward, Parsons, Bledsoe, and Gortat will all get more than their suggested AAV. In fact, if history is any indication, all the top FAs will get more than suggested.

Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency

26. P.J. Tucker | SF | RFA 2013-14 Team: Phoenix Suns Salary: $884,293 Suggested AAV: $4.0 million/year, three years, non-guaranteed third year Tucker emerged as a high-level defensive wing, and the addition of a reliable corner 3-point shot makes him more valuable. His restricted free agency couple...

17. Trevor Ariza | SF | UFA 2013-14 Team: Washington Wizards 2013-14 Salary: $7.7 million Suggested AAV: $5.7 million/year, four years Ariza kicks off a string of full midlevel exception caliber players: vets who can fill a role immediately, but aren't necessarily cornerstones or building blocks. Ar...

Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency

12. Marcin Gortat | C | UFA 2013-14 Team: Washington Wizards 2013-14 Salary: $7.7 million Suggested AAV: $9.0 million/year, four years Gortat did everything he was supposed to do in a contract year: stayed healthy, shot efficiently at the rim, protected the defensive glass. He's a nice finisher with...

10. Gordon Hayward | SF | RFA 2013-14 Team: Utah Jazz 2013-14 Salary: $3.5 million Suggested AAV: $10.0 million/year, four years Hayward bears similarity to Parsons in style of play, but did not benefit from the high-level help that Parsons did. He's the better player, but struggled mightily in his ...

Here are some other Suns related/linked FAs 8. Pau Gasol | F/C | UFA 2013-14 Team: Los Angeles Lakers 2013-14 Salary: $19.3 million Suggested AAV: $11.3 million/year, three years, non-guaranteed third year He's not elite anymore, but Gasol still is a high-level defensive rebounder and effective scor...

7. Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency

Also read that Hawes is demanding around 8M per from the Cavs. Maybe that's why they are looking at Frye, who supposedly he can't command that. Elhassan broke down what each free agent should be commanding. Here is Frye's: 14. Channing Frye | PF/C | UFA 2013-14 Team: Phoenix Suns 2013-14 Salary: $6...

Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency

I really don't see the big deal about LeBron's agent screening the meetings with his suitors. He'd probably get criticized for making teams do the whole 5 star pitch thing, too. Agreed. Didn't Chris Bosh take off for vacation before the start of free-agency? I'm sure everything for him is going thr...

Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency

Was Anthony a cancer when he took the Nuggets to the WCF or when he won two Olympic gold medals, or when he won a NCAA championship at Syracuse? I'm not a huge fan of his ball stopping, but I don't think that's entirely his fault. I think on different teams, he has shown that he's not a ball stoppe...

Re: Suns News: The Offseason

His release is late, he should time it with leaving his feet, but it seems to stay in his hands and he releases it when he coming back down. It's no wonder why he's inconsistent.

I would have never expected that much for Lowry. Crazy!
I meant I've been expecting Bledsoe to get the max.

Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency

I hope they don't spend money, just to spend money. It feels like a bunch of guys like Ariza, Bazemore, and Davis fall into that category.

Re: Suns News: The Offseason

It seems that the Suns are going to be associated with almost every free agent name. Obviously, you use the tools that you are given to build a team. One of those is free agency, and evaluation of free agents to fit your team. It's already started to be a very very interesting off-season.

Re: Around the league: June 2014

Whenever you can get assets and out from under a contract for a coach that doesn't want to be there and you don't want anymore either, that is a good day.

Re: Suns News: The Offseason

My hope is that Len is ready to take the starting center position this year, so that Plumlee can fit more naturally into the off the bench energy post. I think either Melo or Bosh would fit. LeBron needs another go to scorer, someone that could get a great shot off at the end of the game. Melo is on...
