Re: Phoenix Suns 2014: Offseason Moves

And good point on overvaluing role players on title teams. The Wolves can't wait to get rid of JJ Barea, for instance.[/quote]

Didnt they give a stupid contract to Travis Knight once also. Those Wolves

Re: Suns 2014: NBA Draft

Suns GM Ryan McDonough tells Suns.com that Phoenix won’t draft a player based solely on his ability to contribute immediately. “Just because we were close to the playoffs, we’re not going to draft a guy just because he’s able to play right away,” McDonough said. “I think that’s where a lot of mista...

Re: Suns 2014: NBA Draft

Just wondering is there any benefit at all to saying we wont draft 3 guys publicly? If we intended to trade some of them, wouldnt it be better to talk about what a deep draft it is to raise their perceived value. I know I'm knit picking

Re: Phoenix Suns 2014: Offseason Moves

So whats the story with Okafor? Is he still injured or already exploring options with other teams. Was kinda hoping that if he got healthy he wouldnt mind playing here at a decent price since he has always played for losing teams/organisations and we appear to be on the up. But I imagine if he is at...

So...to fix the Suns, they just have to do everything that they did last year. There. Done. Fixed.
Somewhere Lance Blanks is taking notes and thinking what a great idea it is.

Re: Phoenix Suns 2014: Offseason Moves

I think Patty Mills is a good target if Bledsoe leaves. One concern after watching him play a solid game 4, I hope he doesn't ended up suffering from 'Ringitis'. That is a role/bench player who ends up getting overvalued because he was on a championship winning team and people expect them to keep g...

Re: Phoenix Suns 2014: Offseason Moves

That site also has an article about how the Suns are now in 1st place to get Love. But the article goes on to say we are willing to give them Bledsoe and Goran for Love. There are a number of things wrong with that proposal but I would be curious to see how fans would react. http://www.rantsports.co...

Re: Phoenix Suns 2014: Offseason Moves

If Bledose comes back, would anyone be interested in Patty Mills as a backup? Can shoot, play uptempo, could play sizeable minutes if a starter went down again. I just think thats a very solid 3 guard rotation if he came at an ok price, and sprinkle in some Goodwin. I know back pg isnt the biggest p...

Re: NBA Finals: Spurs vs Heat 2

Agreed Mori. In game 4 so far Miami just give it to LB, piss away 15 seconds on the shot clock and hope for a double team. The Spurs offensive execution is actually enjoyable to watch (dont hate me). Good ball movement and not relying on anything or anyone special (with perhaps the slight exception ...

Re: Suns News: The Offseason

This isn't necessarily a big story, but I think it's an important one. The Suns have locked up a single affiliation deal with the Bakersfield Jam: http://www.azcentral.com/story/sports/nba/suns/2014/05/08/phoenix-suns-use-d-league-bakersfield-affiliate/8870125/ Much like how Reno serves as the Diam...

Re: Phoenix Suns 2014: Offseason Moves

I'm not sure if my comments fit with topic but here goes. Does anyone think we could be doing a lot more in terms of trying to utilize the development league for our own benefit. Look at how Houston use their assigned team to try new strategies - which was to shoot huge amounts of 3pters. Golden sta...

Re: 2014 NBA Draft

I cant see how we could fit development time in for 3 rookies That's why drafting euros has been pointed by many, McD included. I wouldnt be against that if cant work anything else out. It still keeps us some nice assets who can maintain some trade value if they put up good numbers of europe rather...

Re: 2014 NBA Draft

Danimal: I think ultimately, if the Suns are going to nab a pick #5-8, it will be with a package of the Morris Twins, #14, & #18. The Suns would probably have to give the team they're with salary cap relief by taking on an unwanted contract and/or taking back more salary then they're sending ou...

Re: 2014 NBA Draft

There would have to be a degree of luck in that the team drafting has a log jam at the best play available's position. At least when we know the draft order it will be interesting to try and predict which team that might be. I think that's an accurate assessment. I don't think any team is moving a ...

Did any one else notice Van Gundy kept saying Len instead of Lin? Surely the other commentator would have to say something at some point... or perhaps he dared him to do it. Hard to take his commentary seriously after that

Re: 2014 NBA Draft

Do we package any picks this year? I hope we do to get up and Nab Gordon,Randle or Vonleh. But if we stayed put and got an Anderson/Stauskas/Harris/Capela combo at 14&18 I would be happy. I think we can move up to the top 5 There would have to be a degree of luck in that the team drafting has a...

Re: Phoenix Suns 2014: Offseason Moves

Sorry if its already been said but its at least nice to go into the offseason with a sense of optimism. I was genuinely fearful of what Blanks next move would be when he was in charge. Can’t remember having this feeling since we cleaned house with the marbury trade to NY and gained a lot of flexibil...
