Re: Eric Bledsoe [RFA]

"Insider from Portland" has about as much gravitas as being a lumberjack from Gila Bend. I call major "ass" on the story.

Re: Around the League: July 2014

That contract was a personal services contract with the franchise to act in a variety of capacities. I'm fairly certain it was above/beyond his player contract.

Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency 2 (new)

Green reminds me a bit of Eddie House in that, when he is on one of his incandescent jags, he really incites the home crowd. Who else currently on the roster has that quality?

Re: Suns News: The Offseason

On the free agency front, I would love to see the Suns go for a bargain, minimal salary guy like Earl Clark, Gustavo Ayon, Ekpe Udoh, etc. Ayon would make sense from a marketing standpoint for this area. He's a bit stronger and better offensively than Udoh. If it's just defense you want, I'd go wit...

Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency 2 (new)

Big Dan, the Man!

Tough to know what sort of player Monroe can be since the Pistons team was so screwed up with mismatched pieces ( and Smith's stupid contract). Suns would be better off in the short-term to get a Joel Anthony-type for defense and grit. Easier said than done, of course.

Re: Eric Bledsoe [RFA]

Williams was a gifted offensive player. Miller had the more complete game.

Ollie's problem was he thought he was a larger version of Charles Barkley and could get away with all sort of stuff. Too bad, as he could have had a very good career, instead of being an overused punchline ...

Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency 2 (new)

I think we will get a better reading of him during the coming season. The backcourt is OK, but I'm not sure the team is solid up front, especially if Len keeps hurting himself. I don't see this team standing pat through April and replicating last year's mild success. The Suns aren't sneaking up on a...

Re: Eric Bledsoe [RFA]

John Sam Williams played collegiately for LSU, and was drafted by the Washington Bullets in 1986. When drafted, he was about 235 at around 6-9. He’d balloon to about three bills later in his career. It was a shame, because he was a great passer with a soft shot and a nice feel for the game. Later in...

Re: Eric Bledsoe [RFA]

Right. He was once thought of a hybrid player who could play a number of positions.

He did, poorly.

Re: SUNS 2014: Free Agency 2 (new)

What I like about the Spurs is they usually acknowledge their mistakes and move on. And it's not all the GM's fault; major moves most of the time happens with the coaches advice/agreement/input. Brooks stubbornly maintains Perkins is his guy, even though the big lug is an iron yoke on the offense ...

Not implying the Suns should re-sign him, but WTH happened to Okafor? He's been under the radar for months. Not a peep.

Re: Around the League: July 2014

That's why great franchises usually have a good management team with FO and coaching staff on the same page. Riley is OK, but perhaps a bit past his prime; I always had my doubts about Spoelstra. Like you guys said, Cleveland always seemed to be flailing, assembling seamingly quality parts that didn...

Doc: SODC has been fairly busy. He's traveling, for now. Will be relocating within the state in a month or so.
