Re: Game Day: Hawks (4-6) @ Suns (6-4), Thurs 11/14/19

I'm ok with Trae Young getting his ESPN highlight. Suns won the game ... that's what counts. It's a good sign that different players are major contributors on varying nights. Williams will have an interesting dilemma when Ty Jerome is healthy, and is available to be integrated (gradually) into the r...

Props to Vogel for effective use of Howard, McGee and Davis. McGee is useful when his minutes are targeted and his purpose is well-defined -- left to his own devices, he can be a clustermess.n An encouraging development is the progress of C. Johnson. This might have been a game where Ayton may have ...

Just an unbelievable win. It might have been Devin Booker's finest game to date. 40 points on 15/19 shooting, 3/4 from deep, 7/7 from the line, one vicious tomahawk jam, so much s*** talk, and he took over late when the team needed him the most. The crowd was beside itself tonight. In some ways, it...

In some regards, not the Suns strongest game so far, as they were outrebounded and Memphis had more blocks.

Still, Suns played well as a team, with six players in double figures and two others with nine each.
Guys made key plays at the right time.

Bianchi’s street-smart chutzpah was the perfect complement to MacLeod’s dapper, Xs-and-Os controlled mien. “Along with Jerry Colangelo, MacLeod, Al McCoy, Joe Proski, Paul Westphal, Alvan Adams, Dick Van Arsdale, Ron Lee, Gar Heard and Walter Davis, he was a big part of the whole experience for Suns...

"Monty seems to be subbing 3 and 4 guys in and out at a time to keep certain units together instead of mixing and matching."

That's a good sign. This coach appears to have a plan, as opposed to the last several guys who seem to be swinging aimlessly in the dark ...

The Suns on TV will always be Al and Dick Van Arsdale or Al and Cotton for me. There were a lot of nights where I would listen to the Suns on KTAR and try to catch the late scores on the local news or by calling the sports score number run by the Arizona Republic. First Suns broadcaster was KTAR TV...

He's only played two games, but he acts like he belongs ... no fear. Made a nice play on a rocket hit off the announcement board to hold the Rockies' player to a single.

Re: Diamondbacks start well in April

I was shocked that Greinke was traded -- not by his loss, but more the fact that the Snakes got prospects in return as well as a good deal in getting rid of a majority of his contract. While the loss of Greinke's talent is palpable, Arizona picked up a solid innings-eater, middle of the rotation pitc...

No love for Gortat at 5. In his almost three years as a Sun, average 13.3 ppg, 9.3 rbg and 1.5 blocks.

Not an all-time great or anything, but I liked Rodney Rogers and think he would be a good fit in today's game. Rodney was a weapon. He could bomb from the outside. And his low center of gravity made him formidable in the paint. He use to give Shaq trouble in the post ... RR was about as easy to mov...
