Re: Around the League: Coronavirus Break

Unseld won both the Rookie of the Year and regular season Most Valuable Player awards, becoming only the second NBA player after Wilt Chamberlain to capture both awards in the same season. He was short even for his time -- listed at 6-8 initially, he was actually not quite 6-7. He was a solid 250, w...

Re: Around the League: Week 20 3/9-3/15

Sloan combined with Norm Van Lier to give the Bulls one of the best defensive backcourts of that or any era.
Jerry was a very tough customer as a player.
His work ethic was the foundation for his coaching style.

Re: NBA FA 2020 & Suns FA targets

Nash was stuck behind Jason Kidd and Kevin Johnson, two halfway decent PGs (although KJ was becoming more injury prone). The year before, he was battling Kidd, KJ, Sam Cassell and Rumeal Robinson for minutes (albeit for part of the season with Sam-I-Am and RR). As part of the trade to Dallas, the Su...

Majerle out at GCU.

https://arizonasports.com/story/2291789 ... 7-seasons/
Just saw that. Seven seasons at GCU, this was his only losing season. Had two key players out for various reasons.
I don't think it was a coaching issue ....

Is Ayton going tonight?
3 hours ago: Ayton (ankle) went through shootaround Tuesday morning, Gina Mizell of The Athletic reports. "We'll see how he feels tonight," coach Monty Williams said of Ayton. "Hopefully he can go."

Suns 7-9 from three to start the game, double digit lead most of the 1st but the Bucks are without Freak and are adjusting. Middleton is warming up and he's the guy who will pick up the slack. Big whoop. We were without Ayton, Oubre, and Cam. I was going to say something similar. In just about ever...

Re: Game Day: Trailblazers (28-35) @ Suns (24-38), Fri 3/6/20

Suns probably gambled that Whiteside would not come out and guard Baynes on the perimeter. Good gamble, given that Whiteside is more a classic low-post center offensively and defensively. Knowing he was free to fire, Baynes did so at will and with confidence. But, yeah, expect this to be the excepti...

Pistons may shelve Derrick Rose, and could claim Jordan McRae.
Because they have a worse record than the Suns, they would be ahead of Phoenix in ability to sign him.

Cam got bounced around last night.

Took a knee to the groin and about a minute or so later, had a fairly nasty fall.
