Flex saying something about Sochan. Fuck out of here
Gut feeling: Suns are looking at trade with San Antonio for DA. They'll get Sochan, who isn't a James Jones kind of guy (not NBA ready), but is intended to be flipped for KD (which oddly seems to be falling into place).

Re: Suns Off-Season Thread

Yea we've kicked the tires on him before which is why I mentioned him. We tried to acquire him in 2020. Fell through. I would LOVE to acquire Kennard. Dude is one of the best 3-point shooters in the NBA. He'd be a great fit on a team that has guys who suck in defenses on the P&R or can nail mid...

Re: Around the League News - 2022 Offseason Edition

Phewwwww no Grant for Ayton trade. That was one of the ones I liked least so I'm glad it is off the table. Don’t count it out yet. Wonder if Portland could turn around and send him to Phx still. I saw on twitter reports that Portland has every intention of keeping Grant and building around him, Dam...

Re: 2022 NBA Draft Thread

Yeah, I get the psychology and I fall into that trap at times too. I guess I am not sure that is how Marks thinks. If you're rebuilding, it's better to roll the dice and hope for a star. If you're trying to round out a championship caliber club, you go with the numbers and known values. (i.e. swing...

Re: 2022 NBA Draft Thread

How many #8 picks in the last 10 years are better than Cam? I am not sure the Nets would like that more than Cam if they were trading KD and Kyrie walks. It's a perceived value thing with human psychology. Some young athletic kid with tons of upside (Dyson) seems more appealing than a known quantit...

Re: 2022 NBA Draft Thread

Here's the blurb, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense since we don't need to free up cap space to re-sign Cam or DA. Also not sure it even makes sense for the Pels since they have Jones and Murphy who are kind of similar to Cam. Maybe this would be part of a larger move somehow? https://twitter...

Re: Around the League News - 2022 Offseason Edition

So..does this make our chances for KD better? Short version: Yes. Longer version: It depends on what Brooklyn is able to do to replace Kyrie, but S&Ts usually favor the signing team. Same way the Suns are screwed with Ayton. Unless Brooklyn gets very creative / lucky, they're taking a step back...

How about this Ayton S&T:

Ayton, Crowder and Craig for Al Horford and Robert Williams.
I don't think that's doable. It would put Boston over the hard cap, I believe, because of Ayton only counts for $15 million going out, and 30+ million going in to Boston.

Re: Suns Off-Season Thread

I’m not sure how you can call Williams awful Well, other than being undersized, bad at passing the ball, terrible at rebounding, and ranking 78th out of 82 power forwards in real plus minus, and 509th out of 557 players in win shares (he produced -.15), he's great. Very few players hurt their teams...

I don’t think that does it for me. Vuc had a down year and he’s 32. Coby White is kind of interesting...

Re: Around the League News - 2022 Offseason Edition

So everybody else can trade garbage to get a value player except we can’t FF hit on it. He makes teams worse. The real plus minus numbers tell a different story. His on court performance is consistently a net positive for teams. Off court may be a different matter: he's a "difficult" play...

Re: Allegations of racism and misogyny within the Phoenix Suns: Inside Robert Sarver's 17-year tenure as owner

I remember seeing something weird after the Suns flopped against the Mavs. The end of year message that was sent out from the team was signed by a minority owner. Additionally, he didn't attend the last few home games. I really think that sometime during the doldrums between the end of the finals an...

Re: Suns Off-Season Thread

My preference remains figuring out a way to keep him. However, I'd be OK with letting him go for a package that replaces 80% of what he gives us and augments us somewhere else, like Collins/Okongwu or WCJ/Cole Anthony/Isaac* (I'm not giving up! Watch defensive highlights of the dude and Imagine him...

Re: 2022 NBA Draft Thread

Jeremy Sochan might be the ideal frontcourt player for us in the draft. 6-9 230 with potential lockdown defensive ability inside and out. Really good on the perimeter at his size and would be a big upgrade guarding the bigger 3/4s we have trouble with, along with smaller 5s. Offensively, he's the c...

Re: Suns Off-Season Thread

Rebounding is not hard to find…if you can get Durant, you get Durant and figure out the rebounding later. Yup. That and Durant is an upgrade in rebounding at PF. Ayton's 9.8 RPG is good, but not great. And he looked pretty anemic in the playoffs at times (not boxing out, not fighting, not jumping f...

Re: Suns Off-Season Thread

Brad Beal doesn't really fill a need: he's already in the mold of Booker. Siakam is a lateral move, probably doesn't move the needle enough to put us back in the finals Embiid... yes oh God yes if he's gettable, but I don't think he is. But of all the people mentioned, Jaylen Brown doesn't fill a ne...

Re: Suns Off-Season Thread

Or Vassell would be staying to take over for Bridges as Mikal would probably be leaving in a Durant trade. Like I said, the pieces acquired in a separate trade involving Ayton are likely to be the keys to a trade for KD. I really don't think the Suns are letting Mikal go unless what's being offered...
