Re: Edited: easier to buy guns than vegetables?
It was a big nothing sandwich for me, but not to everybody in Texas already paranoid of government including the Governor that feels the need to keep an eye on them just to make sure they aren't planning an overthrow.
Re: Ferguson
I'm not easily insulted. If I only talked to people who weren't screwed up I wouldn't have any friends. I have yet to meet a perfect person without issues. We all have egos and think we are always right about everything. We lose each other here when we start insulting each other's intelligence. Ther...

And then Baltimore started and we haven't even mentioned it. I guess we are numb to this now.

I would be embarrassed if I was them too. One cop with a pistol takes out two guys with assault rifles in 15 seconds. I'm going out on the limb and saying the cop had a little more training than the wanna be terrorists.

Re: Partisan Politics Good For America?
I would vehemently oppose forcing the churches to participate in a ceremony they don't support. My first wife was Catholic and we were almost married Catholic, but the amount of stuff we had to go through before they would agree to marry us along with lying about whether we had been intimate before...

Re: Economic Policy: Let's Start with Trade
In Germany, every corporation is required by law to have (iirc) 1/3 representation by workers on the board of directors. In the U.S., corporations are forbidden by law from acting in any interest other than the company itself, which interest overlaps with, but is not reducible to, the interests of ...

Re: Economic Policy: Let's Start with Trade
If companies thought their workers would work better if they received equity, you'd think they'd give it out. There are Securities laws and other effects on stock to consider, however. It's possible employees wouldn't value equities sufficiently due to a lack of liquidity. But I like the idea. I th...

Re: Morris twins charged with felony assault
This story came out a long time ago. Why did it take so long for them to press charges? I guess they wanted to wait until the end of the season? So we were really good and making the playoffs every year and going far into them usually and yet nobody seemed to be happy with the team and wanted to tra...

Re: Partisan Politics Good For America?
It might be an issue? We shouldn't allow gays to marry because there might be an issue with churches tax exempt status? I guess we have to have priorities. How do you feel about interracial marriage? Some churches hated it, but apparently were forced to accept it or lose their tax exempt status. How...

I have no problem with low flow toilets as long as things keep flowing... "Let's start a new country without any laws and see how that ends up." C'mon. You know that is not what I said. No offense meant Laz. We were talking about dumb laws that politicians try to pass to legislate morality...

And yet every country on planet Earth legislates morality. It would be nice is we didn't have to make laws making it illegal to kill, steal, etc. What is the Ten Comandments? God legislating morality. "Thou shall not _______ or you will suffer eternal hell." Let's start a new country witho...

I'm sure it was TMI. I went to school in LA and got a job as a messenger to fill in the blanks. Then when I moved back to AZ got a job as a messenger here too to fill in the blanks as well. A friend from high school was an engineer at GM and hooked me up with the job because it was better than being...

The soft drink thing is the same thing as the AZ politician wanting to make it a law that everybody has to go to church. We can say that since Quomo or whoever said that was a Democrat that ALL Democrats want to ban big soft drinks. Since the AZ politician was a Republican ALL Republicans want to fo...
