Re: Suns News: Week 3 1/4-1/10
With tonight's San Antonio victory over the Lakers, the Suns are temporarily back in first place in the West - half a game ahead of the two L.A. teams, and then followed by seven teams at exactly 4-4 right now. It's starting off as a bit of a weird season. Let's just keep winning. How about that? h...

https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1347321377297223680?s=20 Oh well, there goes that, then. I'm not terribly surprised he's ending up with Thibs, although I thought he might hold out for a backup spot on a contender, once the season gets a little further along and we've got a better picture of who ...

Six of those guys -- all except Saric -- have scored at least 20 points in a game so far this season, too.

Re: 2020 Election Thread
The country badly needs for Trump to at least soften his stance. He doesn’t even have to come all the way out and say “I was wrong,” which I’m not sure he’s psychologically capable of doing. Just say, “I believe I should have won the election, but I can’t prove it. It’s time to move on and accept wh...

To paraphrase the video: "THIS WAS STOLEN FROM US, MASSIVE FRAUD, IT'S THE WORST THING EVER....but oh by the way, I guess you protesters should go home."

You do remember, BK, that there was a certain someone missing for 25 games or so? Maybe even a starter? And that Heat team ended up being the Eastern Conference Finals team. I remember, and I pointed out that this year's team, so far, doesn't seem to be depending on anything like Aron Baynes having...

Re: Game Day: Raptors (1-5) @ Suns (5-2), Wed 1/6/21
This time last year: The Suns played game #8 of the 2019-20 season on November 7th, 2019. They were coming off a 114-109 win against a Philadelphia 76ers team that had entered the game 5-0; Devin Booker's 40 point night and Ricky Rubio's 21/10 had pushed the Suns to their third straight win and a 5-...

Twenty-one dribbles over the course of about twelve seconds in that clip, or ten more than Klay Thompson reportedly had in scoring 60 points in an entire game a few years ago. Different guys, different roles, still kind of an amusing contrast.

I like these conversations so much more than debating whether Bender is going to turn the corner. Ha, very true. For what it's worth, though, I could see Bender taking a CamPayne-like path back to the NBA someday - get some real playing time overseas, figure out how he can contribute at a high leve...

Re: Game Day: Clippers (4-2) @ Suns (5-1), Sun 1/3/21
Happy Birthday! Hope you get what you (and the rest of us) want when it comes to this game. Probably going to have to win in the backcourt and at center, because the Clips are one of the few teams right now that would appear to have a clear advantage at the wing positions. Mikal, Jae and CamJohnson ...

Re: TV Shows / Movies
I've watched the first three episodes of The Stand, too. I generally like the casting okay, but the way they've chosen to present it (lots of flashbacks and time jumps) is confusing; if I hadn't read the novel fairly recently, I think it would be very difficult to follow. I liked The Mandalorian for...

Some words from Jerry Colangelo, Eddie Johnson and others on Westy. Good stuff.

Re: RIP Paul Westphal
He was the best player on the first Suns team that I really followed, the 75-76 "Sunderella" Suns that went to the finals. I was eleven years old at the time and in a perfect position to become a fan of a team that came out of nowhere to overachieve that much. He was a true superstar score...

Re: Around the League: Offseason
I'll take both Gasol brothers - at their respective peaks, they were both excellent two-way players that could pass, shoot, and defend inside and out. If I'm thinking modern game, I want shooting with them, so Dragic (as the best shooter of the inexpensive point guards) and Peja (as a great tallish ...

I'm kind of hoping for toast to add some avocado, bacon, and tomato, so it's at least appetizing and filling, even if it's not all that fancy.

Re: Game Day: Suns (4-1) @ Nuggets (1-3), Friday 1/1/21
This team could really use one more true "big" that's actually able to play at or near an NBA level, especially if Saric is going to be in and out on a night-to-night basis. I wouldn't be comfortable relying on Smith yet, and I'm pretty sure, despite the tiny sample size, that Jones isn't ...

Re: Suns News: Week 2 12/28-1/3
One pretty obvious success of the defense early on has been a focus on preventing threes, and contesting the threes that opposing teams are taking as much as possible. https://www.nba.com/stats/teams/opponent/?sort=OPP_FG3M&dir=-1 The team is currently second in fewest opposition 3-pt attempts (...

Mavs leading the Clips by 50 (FIFTY!) points at the half, 77-27. They just said it's the largest halftime lead in the history of the league.

Re: TV Shows / Movies
I watched WW84 yesterday - in the end, I wasn't very impressed. I'm paying for an HBOMax sub anyways, but I would've been disappointed had I paid full price to see it in a theater. I'll spoiler tag a couple of observations, if anybody wants to know why: The object that drives the majority of the plo...
