PJ Tucker Agrees to Re-Sign

Post by ShelC »

As per Gambo, 3 years, 16.5 mil which is the full MLE.

Sounds about right given the market, though I still think that's a lot for him. Congrats though, wasn't an easy path for him to get here. He's earned it for sure.

Definitely deserved it's own thread. A little pricey but I like it.

AWESOME!!!

*EDIT*

I jumped right to the bottom before even reading the terms. Nice. Not bad. Like I said, if $6M is the new $4M, then this sounds pretty fair.

I love it. $5.5 mil is the right amount for the Suns' emotional leader. Love his hustle, love his work ethic. I'm all for this.

I love the re-signing, but thank other scrambling, bat-shit crazy owners for setting the market, again, higher than Chong on a billboard.....

Yeah, I loved Frye but at 8mil per I didn't feel that bad seeing him walk. Hopefully Markieff is ready to step into that role.

A tad more than I'd like to have paid, but hey I'm glad he's back. Him and Dragic were the heart and soul of the team.

So he hasn't signed just yet, but the agreement includes a non-guaranteed 3.8mil in the 3rd year.

^ That's not as bad. Is it a team option on the 3rd year?

Seems like just a partial guarantee. So if his salary for the 3rd year is say, 6.3ish, 2.5 is guaranteed, 3.8 is not.

The price isn't too bad. I guess. The team can definitely use his defense. I just hope he has worked on his decision making. I really didn't like it when he would run the fast break instead of passing it up to Dragic or Bledsoe.

I'm just not sure about how the media hypes up the idea that he is the heart of the team and the vocal leader. They go way overboard with it. Hopefully that vocal leader won't have any issues eventually shifting over to being a bench player.

According to Horny, PJ was the one to get on the Suns when they were dogging it at half time. Lord knows the Suns absolutely need that kick you in ass type of guy around given how often they played down to the opposition.

I've loved PJ since first watching hip play for your Phoenix Suns early in the 2012 season. Glad to see him stick around because his role is critical for a team serious about contending.

There goes our first million over spended, for those two years down the road wondering why we can keep "X" player. For all the chat about home discounts, he certainly force our hand into the full MLE, wich is more along a "match the offer" stuff.

Besides that...

Welcome back TJ!!!
