Looks like Hill will be starting for the Lakers, and Gasol will be moving on.

I find it hard to believe that John Hollinger would covet a late 30s Vince Carter for any amount of time let alone years. Vince is a year younger than me, AKA, past his prime. I know he hit some big shots for Dallas in the S.A. series but even the sun shines on a dog's ass sometimes. That's honestly a waste of $12Mil.
Go Suns!

Carter will be 40 when this contract is up.

The Memphis team in the ABA was the same way in their dying days (signing a bunch of players from the Indiana ABA championship teams).MightyMoog wrote:Memphis has an affinity for washed up has been all stars. i.e. Allen Iverson
Maybe this explains their devotion to Elvis until the bitter end.

The length is not great, but Dallas Vince Carter has become an underrated player and a hell of role player in the mold of Suns Grant Hill. He even played defense.carey wrote:I find it hard to believe that John Hollinger would covet a late 30s Vince Carter for any amount of time let alone years. Re: Around the League: July 2014
I just remember when he was a Sun, and I hated the flow when he was on the floor. He'd hog the ball, try to take over when he couldn't, didn't make good decisions about when to shoot vs pass etc., and just generally seemed to be a ball-stopper who broke the flow of our offense. He still has a lot of talent, so if he's learned how to better fit into an offense during his Dallas days, more power to him. But I would never want him back as a Sun, that's for sure.

I don't long for Vince Carter either.
Re: Around the League: July 2014
He's accepted that he's a role player now. When he was here and in Orlando, he still thought he should be the man. Going to Dallas was the best thing for him.

“Kobe had said (after the play) I wasn’t hugged enough as a child,” Bell recalled. “My mom kind of found him after the instance and we had beat them and offered him a hug in the bowels of the Phoenix arena. She really feels a part of that story.”

I really like that Morrow signing for the Thunder. They need shooting in the worst way.
Re: Around the League: July 2014
Melo won't win anything with the Knicks. He took the money. Should have been a Bull.
Re: Around the League: July 2014
Eh, I say good for Melo, I'd rather he stick it out than chase rings the way LBJ did. I hope now that little run of super teams is done.
