Warren's looking nasty out there. A really potent scorer.

What did you expect? Minnesota has Matt Janning. Game over.
Trendon Watford. Please and thank you.

The story on him is that he drinks too much and doesn't take basketball seriously. Poor work ethic. He has talent though.

The more recent story is that he turned it around a little over the last few years. He looked a little heavy today. That's a big boy.

He's always been a really good defender. Very agile for someone that size.

Athletically similar, but Lavine already has a better handle and is a better passer. Confident too, sky is the limit.

It's interesting to watch how guys in the floor start looking for TJ even though there are no plays called for him. They just know he is going to score the ball if they get it to him.

Yea and I love that he's such a high percentage guy. He's not just jacking, he's aggresively getting to the basket and even if he misses, he's got such great instincts, he's able to get his own rebound and putback. He's shooting something like 60% in SL, after shooting 52% at NC State. Those #s are unheard of for a perimeter player. He plays big though, one of the most aggressive attackers I've ever seen.

He needs to get his ft% into the 80s and develop a corner 3. Then he's got a nice long career ahead of him as a 20 ppg guy.

Warren reminds me of a larger version of Ced Ceballos -- he's a scorer with a high-revving motor who has a natural instinct to the ball and the hoop. Steve Smith and Grant Hill said Warren is equal parts Bernard King and Mark Aguirre. That may be a bit much, but that's from two guys who played and know the game ...

What's also surprising is that he really isn't all that athletic, at least not a super athlete for the position, but he's got that quick 2nd jump ala Shawn where he can get his own miss and putback very effectively.

Mark Aguirre had a keaster more akin to an NFL noseguard. Remember Rodney McCray? Another pear-shaped player. But those guys made plays and juiced the offense.

There have been many great athletes who were dumber than a bag of hammers when it came to basketball IQ.

Very much so. His jump shot was much better than I expected.

Yeah, as soon as I saw his perfect mug, I hung my head. I knew in my heart it was over.

In case anybody else is wondering:
The Suns (2-2) will close out their summer league schedule Friday afternoon against a to-be-determined opponent.
