Yeah, I don't understand why anyone would want to play Ayton at the 4.

Still doesn't explain the "boiiiiiing" comment. I thought that was a bad thing. Like the sound the ball makes clanging off the rim.
Nah. The kind of boing you get from looking at this.

Yes, I’m saying Ayton should get some minutes at PF.
Why?
Exactly. Why? I get it, he is a great guy. Seems like a really positive influence to have around. But we need better talent if we ever want to be relevant again. Double, Doubles in meaningless games means squat.
JWB--I think you missed the question. It was, why does TOO want to play Ayton at the 4?
Answer: I dont :D Cap divied up Ayton minutes at the 4

Another stretch 4 possibility is Jonas Jerebko.

The only free agent point guard option I see is Fred VanVleet. I like Exum, but he can't shoot or stay healthy.

Are you saying Ayton needs minutes at PF? I dont agree with that. We have a 3rd emergency C in Chriss/Bender, I think thats more than sufficient.

If we're going the VanVleet route why not sign Seth Curry instead? Coming off a stress fracture in his leg but has been lights out from 3 the last 2 years. I believe his deal with Dallas is finished but I'm not 100% certain.

Those are two completely different players. Curry is an undersized 2 who you run off of screens and developing scoring ability. VanVleet is a set 3-point shooter and a pure point guard.

Me either. He needs to play 100% at center.

Draft related but now offseason news?

Great deal if you ask me, let's get him in the gym and coach him up. I think he's going to be a breakout star in SL if he plays.
My hopes for Okobo are irrationally high. He just has that look about him like he's going to be an assassin on the court.

So Thad Young has a player option this year...an idea I had if he picks up that option would be to trade Warren/Chriss/Daniels to Indy for Young and Collison. Both are solid vets and would be on expiring deals, allowing us to have tons of space next offseason whether we extend Booker this summer or wait.

PG - Collison, Okobo, Ulis
SG - Booker, Knight, Harrison
SF - Jackson, Bridges, Reed or King
PF - Young, Bender, Dudley
C - Ayton, Chandler, Williams

Young is pretty similar to Warren. Both are efficient scorers but without much range. Young isn't the scorer Warren is, but I think he's a better defender/rebounder.

I like that actually. Young has more size and a but more range than Warren. He's not a true PF but plays well there and would free up minutes at SF for JJ and Bridges. Collison may be expendable if the Pacers like Holiday that much, tho not sure he's a legit option in a trade. I'd do that deal in a heartbeat tho.

If I am Indy, I don't do it. Chriss and Daniels do nothing for me. Warren would be a nice addition to what I already have (I'd be willing to talk about Al Jefferson's contract and an asset for TJ), but not if I have to give up Thad and Collison as both were a big part of why Indiana surprised and this would force me to make big roster adjustements because TJ Leaf is not ready to play and Sabonis is not a PF. On the other hand the SF sport is already adeptly covered by committee (Bojan, Lance).

Pacers have no reason to hand their starting PG role to an untested rookie, they arent a bad team, why put yourself in a bad situation?

I don't think Thad Young fits what we need. He's another 3/4 tweener that doesn't stretch the floor.

With Fultz supposedly coming back into form, I wonder what it would take to get TJ McConnell from the Sixers? That's a quality vet, a pass-first gaurd that would help fill a big need for us, assuming that we're not just going to roll with Okobo right out of the gate. I feel like it really shouldn't take too much.... If they had thrown in TJ with Bridges, I think that would have made the trade more fair in my mind.

Alright, Captain Sarcasm. I urge you to read this piece on Williams & the Suns. If you still feel like he isn't worth $5M then I won't mention it again and you can continue being obnoxious about it.
