No. We need some athleticism and versatility. Saric and Oubre can both stretch the floor as 4s. We needed someone who can provide a little weak-side help.specialsauce wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 8:32 pmAyton needs to help himself down low. He’s our f*** franchise center. We needed a stretch 4 on the outside. If we need a bruiser for Ayton, just call him a big ass bust right now.
Suns sign Frank Kaminsky

Re: Suns sign Frank Kaminsky
I'm surprised Kaminsky got that much money. Is the second year any kind of option maybe?
We now have two bigs who can shoot, which I think is necessary, and any combo of the 4 bigs should be able to play together except Baynes and Ayton. More athleticism would be nice, but athletic bigs that can shoot are few and cost a lot. Holmes, Bell or someone like that would make sense if we didn't have Baynes, but that's independent of Kaminsky.

Re: Suns sign Frank Kaminsky
Kaminsky is a career poor rebounder, but Saric has flashed the ability to be decent on the boards. But yes, they should rebound better than the wings we had manning the 4 spot last year. But that is setting the bar very low, which seems to be the theme of the offseason.

What are we guessing? And where are the shooting percentages?

Shouldn't you tell us what the options are? I'm assuming one is Kaminsky.

Frye and Kaminsky?
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

I generally have a hard time guessing using per36. It opens up the opportunity for any scrub to be included really.

Re: Suns sign Frank Kaminsky
Kaminsky has been bad basically his whole NBA career so far, so we'll see what he can do. Many thought very little of Frye, so we'll see how much hate he gets. Btw, do you guys remember Frye's mystical relationship with +/- stats? His advanced stats with Dragic on the pick and pop were great too, if I remember correctly (points per possession, I believe).
Re: Suns sign Frank Kaminsky
Yea I'm not expecting any miracles but Frye struggled early in his career too until he came to Phoenix. Bigs like him weren't shooting 3s when he was drafted and he was tagged as a "finesse" guy because he was a jumpshooter and not a banger/rebounder. Knicks were a disaster when he was there, Portland had him bulk up to the play the 5 next to Aldridge. Maybe Kaminsky will break out here too playing with a pass-first PG.

Re: Suns sign Frank Kaminsky
Random thought, but man, Frye was great here. I loved his 3-point shooting, and he fit in so well to what we were doing as a team at that time. I loved those Suns years so much, the 2010-13 ish years when we had Nash and Hill and Frye and Dudley and that whole squad. I miss the good old days.
Re: Suns sign Frank Kaminsky
I hated Frye on the team. I still have nightmares thinking about him being a Sun. He couldn’t grab a freaking rebound.
And right now we desperately need more rebounders not another Frye.
