Game Day: Kings (32-24) @ Suns (31-27), Tues 2/14/23

Post by Superbone »

Time: 7:00 pm AZ (6:00 pm PT/9:00 pm ET)
Place: Footprint Center, Phoenix, AZ
TV: BSAZ, NBALP

Get ready for some Valentine’s Day hoop action. New Sun Darius Bazley and returning Sun TJ Warren join in on the fun as the Suns head toward the all-star break with visions of championships dancing in their heads. This is the last game before the break for the Kings. Let’s send them home with a broken heart.

This one would be a big win for us. A win here would put us just 1 game back of the 3 seed. I think the Suns could get as high as #2 by season's end if they go on a good run. I don't want to focus too much on that, since this team will be nasty no matter its seed. But I do think it's much better to go through the playoffs with home-court advantage in as many series as possible. I'd rather have HCA up until the WCF against (presumably) the mighty Nuggets.

Must win game awaits us... In front of KD I guess our boys will try to show what they are capable of..so Booker with 40 something points Ayton with 20 boards and CP3 with 15 assists

Seems more likely that Sabonis does 40/20/15 by himself tbh.

I checked, it’s never happened.

Closest is a 53/32/14 game from Wilt. Wilt got close a lot. Suns own Alvin Adams had a 47/18/12.

Of course Wilt is a candidate by default for this kind of numbers.
AA the Legend Sun.. what a statline woow!
I thought maybe the Joker did it but no!

Ok then the path is clear for Book, CP and DA :)

Fun fact: Sabonis is averaging 0.1 ppg more than DA this season.

Jokic went 41/15/15 against us on Christmas

He’s also got a 40/27/10, 32/18/10, 32/15/17

Those are his closest.

I'd be surprised if it was over. Let's add to the challenge and break it down per player.

I think we’ll start Paul/Booker/Lee/Craig/Ayton

Bench will be Lee/Okogie/Warren/Ish/Landale

I doubt Bazley plays tonight…though we may try to make Ish inactive so as to not use up all his games before the all star break. In that case we could see Bazley.

I'm calling my shot. Warren and Bazley will be the first two off the bench tonight in that order.

That’s bold. I wouldn’t be surprised to see TJ in the first group of subs. I doubt Bazley will see the court before Lee or Okogie, and Jock will be in for Ayton at his usual time.

Bazley will play the entire 4th quarter because we'll be so far ahead by then, Coach Monty will be emptying the bench.
