Just like Gambo, I don't know where you're pulling these percentages from with third or greater hand (mis)information being put out by rumor aggregators.

It's the start of the offseason. None of us are involved with an NBA front office, so we have no idea what is being discussed.

Honest question Jeremy, what would it take for you to pull the trigger on an Ayton deal? Or what would it take for you to think it was at least passable?

Let’s take the Boston or Orlando offers floated:

Brogdon/Horford/Pritchard for Ayton/Payne

WCJ/Isaac/Bol for Ayton

What would it need to be?

Orlando adding 6 and 11? Fultz?

Smart or White instead of Brogdon? Rob Williams?

If we wound the clock back a year and someone said that out of Ayton, Bridges, Crowder, Johnson and Monty, the only one we'd still have would be DA, I wouldn't have believed you.

Obviously we made the changes we did to build a super team, but it's bizarre that the guy who threw a tantrum and pouted in game 7 against Dallas is the only one we kept!

That’s like me asking you that question about Booker. I’m not looking to trade Ayton in the first place.
Or what would it take for you to think it was at least passable?

Those are trades you make if you either have to trade Ayton (trade demand or something) or really want to get rid of him. So for me, it would take something completely different. I don’t want a collection of lesser players or draft picks. If you had to trade him, then WCJ & Fultz would be passable I suppose. Smart & Williams less so.

Some of these names being tossed around are simply laughable. Al Horford? The one who turns 38 next playoffs? The one who’s never averaged 18 & 10 in his entire career?

Well judging people based on whether they averaged 18/10 isn’t fair. That’s not all there is. I share some concerns with his age and whether or not he has much left. He did shoot 44% from 3 last year on 5 attempts a game. That would be useful. He can also be a bit of a playmaking hub in the high post. You add Brogdon, who also shot 44% from 3 and I’m intrigued. That gives us two useful rotation players who fit well along our stars. The big if is whether Horford would last 2 years.

No thanks to Horford. Would have liked him 3-4 years ago, still would for a 1 year deal but not just to dump DA

Yeah I would take him on a vet min as backup center, if he were a FA.

I think I lean away from him too, but if you told me he’d last 2 more years I’d do it for sure. With Brogdon/Pritchard coming as well.

What I would give for Marcus Smart and Robert Williams.

I think that was just a poster wanting that…the actual rumor said Orlando was offering WCJ/Isaac/Bol

I'm pretty sure the Fultz/Suggs part was just podcasters coming up with stuff to talk about and not based on much insider information.

Got it. I just glanced at the post. I usually don't pay attention to anything for Flex, random bloggers/tweeters.

It is kind of like how VT was the first one to hate on Ryan McDonough and everyone thought he was crazy until he was proven right.

You're right, INF. You're usually the early hater on most things. :P

And Vogel wanted both Paul and Ayton. They’re not going to get rid of both and start things off on a bad note with their new coach.
That's silly. Vogel wanted them because they were still on the roster. He isn't going to start his coaching stint here saying he doesn't want guys that are already on the roster.

Got to be kidding me. Unless Randle is a pill to play with, I’d do it. He is a bull in a china shop that we needed.
