I don't think so. Beal has 4-6 good years left, and I think it's very possible to move Durant for quality players at the end of his contract. It will be harder to stay good without the picks and young players we lost in the trades, but we aren't going to be tanking any time soon.Drewsprocket wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2023 1:59 pmWe’re probably looking at a 2 year window anyway with this group of Book, KD, and Beal. This is not a dynasty. I imagine if we don’t win, things will shift quickly.

Ya I think we probably have a 2-3 year championship window right now, but in 2026 when KD expires, we’ll have Book and Beal still under contract(well Beal will have a player option) and they’ll be 30 and 33. Ayton would be 28 if he’s still here. We also should have major cap space if we play it right and the free agent class that summer is insane.
Re: 2023 General Offseason/PostSeason League News
Yeah I am certainly not doom and gloom for the future, does if suck sitting out the draft? Yep, but at least they'll be in contention yearly.
Re: 2023 General Offseason/PostSeason League News
I don't think contention is a lock. These Big 3 superteams are always built on shaky ground; it doesn't take much to derail them. And Durant is hardly the guy you want when your team is met with adversity, and Beal hasn't been locked in for entire season for years; the hope is he flips the switch now that he is on a team with championship aspirations, but that certainly isn't a given.

He got a nice chunk of change too…now he has the money to support himself physically and mentally and can go find something to do with his life that better suits him.
Re: 2023 General Offseason/PostSeason League News
Was intrigued with Hampton a few drafts ago as a bigger, uptempo guard but he's been on 3 teams already and couldn't stick on 2 of the worst ones. Still just 21, wonder how he shakes out.

I’d take a flyer…we could use young talent
Re: 2023 General Offseason/PostSeason League News
That's crazy. Why would we want to trade Ayton for a worse player making more money while still not improving our depth? Not to mention be left without a center for Vogel's system.

15/6/3 and shot 50/39/88. He’s definitely not worth 38 million, but he’s expiring and you could re-sign him at a friendlier rate.
He’s a good role player. My first thought is you need more to make it worthwhile, but if you have a backup plan at the 5 it makes sense. Sign Bryant, Eubanks, or Plumlee for the minimum and you’ve got a pretty big team. Still have the same depth problem which is why I’d want something else. Could you get a Melton/Payne swap also included? I’d definitely do that.

I like Harris, but the Sixers have to throw in a re-signed Paul Reed for me to think about it.

I found this list interesting. Do you disagree with any?
Re: 2023 General Offseason/PostSeason League News
Well Camara probably got picked at the best spot if he wants to be on that list some day. Fred Hoiberg has to be the worst player on that list, right? They had to most college stats(college conference stats at that).
I’ve never heard of Larry Kenon, but he must have been a 1960’s all-star.

Re: 2023 General Offseason/PostSeason League News
Larry "Special K" Kenon was best known as the #2 guy to George Gervin on the mid-70s Spurs teams, right after they joined the league in the ABA-NBA merger. He was an athletic small forward that was a 20+ a game scorer four years in a row, on teams that were considered run-and-gun for the time.Split T wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2023 8:11 pmWell Camara probably got picked at the best spot if he wants to be on that list some day. Like several guys on that list (Gervin included), Kenon would have been drafted higher based on pure talent, but was passed over because he was already under contract with an ABA team when he became eligible for the NBA draft. The ABA was way ahead of the NBA in the 70s in terms of going after college underclassmen and even high school players (like Moses Malone).
