He'd be Channing Frye (or his effect on the team) on steroids, like the best steroids EVER.

If we trade Plumlee for draft considerations, I wouldn't be surprised to see us bring back Earl Barron.

I wish SDCs drivel didn't show up in quotes, what's the point of blocking him if all his crap is all over the place? Sigh.

I agree he would be a great fit. Are you happy with the price tag that he would come with?

Can't we at least hang on to him until we can try to nab Cauley-Stein next year!? I like what I'm seeing from Miami's Whiteside lately also.

Then bring in Tyson Chandler to mentor all of them ;)

You have to shop Miles around, but I don't move him for just a bottom 5 first round pick for instance, although he could be the kind of player that unblocks a three or four way scenario. A decent rookie scale prospect at backup PF would be interesting, and I'd call the Kings about Stauskas too. Packing Plumlee with other players could be an option to alleviate the logjam at PG/SF.

Haven't been a fan of Plumlee's play this year at all but, since being benched he has done better as the backup. Now with Wright taking his minutes he has been stepping it up some and seems to have hands almost now. Going from starter to the third string Center has to motivate you a little bit.

Still I wouldn't trade him unless we could get another big man of equal or better talent. What do you guys think about Jermaine Oneil or maybe Antonio McDyess?

8-)

it's O'Neal.

edit: but seriously, there used to be a lot of pau gasol jokes aimed at me, nodack. but since pau is playing at an all nba level this year, i've seen fewer of em lately.

SDC, we already have 3 centers, and all 3 of them are already better than Jermaine O'Neal. It just isn't happening. We don't need a nearly-40-year-old plodding center on our roster.

Are you talking about how much the Suns would have to give up in a trade or how much he will command in free agency?

Phoenix #9:
Phoenix (24-18)
Pace: 99.0 (3) OffRtg: 106.9 (6) DefRtg: 103.8 (18) NetRtg: +3.1 (12)
Alex Len has averaged only 7.9 points and 8.0 rebounds in his 17 games as a starter, but the Suns' starting lineup has allowed just 92.4 points per 100 possessions in that time. And all other lineups have been potent offensively, scoring 111.2. It's a good time for a Phoenix vacation, with temperatures in the 70s and lots of good teams coming to town.
This week: vs. LAL, vs. POR, vs. HOU, vs. LAC

The starting lineup has been effective defensively, and all other lineups have been potent offensively? What a peculiar stat.

I don't really see the value of solely looking at the starting lineup's defense, unless you're going to play them for the whole game.

One Plumlee deal I would love would be a deal bringing back Meyers Leonard.

I also like Houston as a destination, with primary interest in Nick Johnson, Isaiah Canaan, and Clint Capela.

Trade idea:

Suns get: Batum, Leonard
Blazers get: Tucker, IT, Plums

I don't see why we should trade away Plumlee for such marginal assets. He's a good backup big man and is on a cheap contract for another year and a half. One injury to Len or Wright and suddenly we'd need Plums for 20+ minutes a night.

Batum makes a ton and has been absolutely abysmal this season.
