Another small 2-guard. We have enough of those.

I'd be all for Ty Jerome.

a. If nothing else, Dragic would give you the ability to throw different looks on the floor and I think would be more effective than Payne.
b. I almost hate to say this, but Westbrook...might make some sense? Vogel I guess might preclude that, but...
c. I still feel like we don't have a strong defensive big. Not bringing back Biyombo to me makes that worse, though he didn't seem as effective last year, though I sometimes wonder if that was Monte's issue with minutes. Thoughts?

I've said before that I would be up for bringing Westbrook in. I'm not sure I'd want him starting so it's whether he'd be willing to come off the bench like he did for the Lakers.Vladimir_Taltos wrote: ↑Sat Jul 01, 2023 10:08 ama. No one eh? I felt the same way. I was pleasantly surprised myself.

Michael Pina at The Ringer hates the Suns day one:
FWIW, I think KBD, Eubanks and Yuta all would have had multiple offers on the open market, especially at vet minimum. (Metu probably not so much). I think from an absolute pessimist’s point of view, I could see what he’s saying. But it’s way overblown. Considering the restraints they’re under the Suns did pretty well.Phoenix spent the first few hours of free agency locking itself into the most top-heavy, least flexible roster in basketball. By definition, this is technically a “team,” but that doesn’t really feel like the right label…
… Damion Lee, Keita Bates-Diop, Drew Eubanks, Chimezie Metu, Josh Okogie, Yuta Watanabe, Jordan Goodwin, Ish Wainright, and Isaiah Todd. Bates-Diop, Eubanks, Metu, and Watanabe were signed immediately, even though there’s a good chance no other teams were willing to take them off the board. It’s still unclear who the fifth starter will be. Cam Payne is the only point guard on the roster. Everyone else is either a specialist who can be exposed in the playoffs or someone who has never been good enough to crack a playoff rotation.
It’s somehow hard to be excited about a team that has Durant, Booker, and Beal on it. But here we are.

He’s an idiot…what did he expect us to do with only vet min deals to offer? And who cares if we signed them quick if we signed them to the vet min…His logic makes zero sense and I don't think he actually knows much about basketball. He probably would've liked our FA if we got someone like Derrick Rose.BKinSJC wrote: ↑Sat Jul 01, 2023 10:35 amMichael Pina at The Ringer hates the Suns day one:

Re: 2023 Free Agency Thread
I meant no one is allowed to actually sign until July 6.
