Game Day: Jazz (1-1) @ Suns (1-1), Sat 10/28/23

Post by Superbone »

Time: 7:00 pm AZ (7:00 pm PT/10:00 pm ET)
Place: Footprint Center, Phoenix, AZ
TV: AZ Family 3TV, NBATV

The Suns play their home opener Saturday night (live). Booker is doubtful while Beal is out. The Jazz beat the Clippers Friday night in Salt Lake City. Let's hope Durant gets a little more help in this one.

Lot of folks worrying and panicking about the injuries to the Big <= 3 on Reddit and Twitter. I don't see a problem. It's game #3 of the season. I don't care much whether they all play in October. Obviously I'd rather have them all healthy, but it doesn't sound like anything chronic that will haunt them all season.

I don't know what to make of the Jazz this year. Are they trying to be good, or quietly tank? I don't think of them as a playoff team, but I guess I could be wrong. I feel like we should be able to beat them even down 1 or 2 of the Big <= 3.

They just beat the Clippers with George, Kawhi and Russ all playing.
Go Suns!

Yep, not a gimme by any means. Jazz are pretty good and I think have a good shot at making the playoffs.

No Book tonight... but this should not be an excuse for us tonight against this Jazz team which plays back to back

This is why I'm not bothering with the Suns until after the World Series. Our B- squad to start the year every night. Hopefully it doesn't wear out Durant shouldering the load. I guess then he can just sit out for a week or two for a break. Going to be one of those regular seasons.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

I hope a silver lining is getting our role players to play better and be less reliant on their stars. Grayson played well in the preseason when he out the ball on the deck. He needs to trust himself on offense since he has that game.

At least in the first two match-ups, he had a hard time penetrating against LAL and GSW wings. Utah doesn’t have exceptional wing/POA defenders. Hopefully he can get it going. If he or Gordon can help stabilize the non-KD minutes we could be in good shape.

This sucks not having Booker and Beal in the lineup. Hopefully Suns play better tonight.

Gordon being able to body up John Collins is great. He so strong for a guard.

Poor start to the 2nd Q…KD being on the bench makes it tough for us

Figured the all bench lineup would be rough, but they aren’t even running offensive sets. 2 straight forced attempts inside without room. Nurk + 2 shooters should have the ball moving around. Gotta trust each other.

I know The Timeline guys quoted the stat but holy smokes EG’s average 3pt distance is nuts. That’s going to create so much more room for the big 3.

Ishbia is such a wonderful change man. You can piss and moan about personnel decisions, whatever, this guy is such a vast upgrade from the ginger fuck.
