I have them in the same tier of Center. It's splitting hairs to pick who's better.

I don't really consider his 30% on 1.5 attempts per game as shooting 3-pointers better than Nurk. Technically it's better, but that doesn't mean he should be doing it often, so it's basically irrelevant.
I prefer him in the paint offensively more and he's probably more mobile, lesser passer but probably not by much. They are mostly a wash and I do not believe that the Suns will employ either of them next year.

.308 this season, but .352, .368, .361, and .349 the four previous seasons. If he can hit at that rate it’s a legitimate weapon.

I like Jonas V, but he's not much better or worse than Nurk, and we don't have any money to pay him anyway.

Ya I’d say the difference is we don’t have KD and Beal as free agents this summer and we have Booker, who is younger and more reliable than Kawhi. They might lose PG and Harden this summer and be a lottery team without the pick.
I don't see losing Harden and/or PG as a bad thing.

Conversely, Beal is a great player, but he really isn't a plus here. It would probably help the Suns if he was a free agent.

Is he better than Nurk?
Yeah, especially if you wanna spread the floor with your 5.
Even setting aside the debatable 3-point threat viability, Valanciunas is definitely better than Nurkic. But he won't be playing for the minimum.

Why do the four prior seasons, or his career average, not matter?

It’s not so much they don’t matter but it’s the downward trend and most currently reflecting his play.

Doesn't the article say the Pels are "prioritizing spacing around Zion?" The Pels do not think he's a legit shooter, and they should know.

Obviously, he's not elite. But he's better than Nurk which admittedly not saying much. Probably not as good of a passer though.

It could just be that they've gotten word from him / his agent that he wants more money than they think he's worth. Centers like JonasV and Nurk are nice at the right price, but if you break the bank for them, you're in trouble. You can sort of get by with a much cheaper center who gives about 80% of the production.

I like Jonas V as a player and have been surprised by his size and strength and moves around the basket. I don't really know how he is as a facilitator, but he averaged around 2 assists/game last year compared to 4 apg for Nurkic. JonasV's FG% and 3pt% are higher than Nurk's but not by a wide margin. Nurkic gets about 2 more rebounds / game, but that could also just be the players around each of them.

I couldn’t get into it. Clark had a very slow start. Finally scored in the last 5 minutes of the first half. Had a bunch of turnovers.
