I think there's a solid chance we take him at #13 if he's there.TheOriginalOriginal wrote:Gross.

If we do, I'll be really sad. (Unless we get Simmons 1st then I won't care what happens)

I would be sad, I think he will be a better pro over time than he was in college. He has a ton of talent. Amazing that almost everyone prior to the college season had him pegged as the possible #1 pick in the draft.

I've had a change of heart on Skal; I wouldn't mind the Suns drafting him.In2ition wrote:I would be sad, I think he will be a better pro over time than he was in college. He has a ton of talent. We shouldn't read too much into who the Suns interview or work out this year. With 4 picks scattered throughout the draft, we will be looking at everybody.
And, honestly, Skal is the textbook example of someone you have to talk to and work out. He has amazing athleticism and skill. You've got to talk to him and try to gauge why he played so poorly this year. Maybe it's something he can grow out of, like culture shock or just not being prepared for the limelight. Maybe it's something he can't grow out of like a low BBall IQ, or lack of competitive drive. But you have to talk to him, because if he can consistently play like that one good game, he can be a very very good player.

The tantalizing thing about skal is that if he reaches his potential, he's a stretch 4 that can protect the rim. Two skills every team needs in one package. You can count on one hand the players in this league that do both of those at an elite level. The big question is whether he reaches that level. I wouldn't risk it at 4, but at 13 I'd be OK. I don't think he lasts that long though.
Re: Suns News: Week 25 4/11-4/17
Perhaps if you really think he could turn out to be something special, trade down to 9 or 10 and pick up a future asset.
