That's a better haul than we are going to get for Len when he walks, tbh.

Win-win move. Two prospects and a second for an decent but irrelevant expiring is a haul. 76rs do well too, as they move on from two guys they were not going to ply. Wouldn't be surprised to see Okafor flourish for the remainder of the season since his next contract is in play (and perhaps even his future in the league).

Nets won't be able to resign Okafor though so it was kind of pointless for them. Really all they got out of the deal was a 2nd rounder and Sauce Castillo's Bird rights.

Yeah, but who knows. Maybe Okafor takes a 2/12 contract with an option for the second season or something like that, if he does just fine and nobody goes crazy next summer. Perhaps low-ish reward but no risk in that front, and they also get a couple of additional assets, all for freaking Trevor Booker's contract haha.

Nash was always one who didn't mind poking fun at himself so I find this tweet quite funny for a couple reasons

Victor Oladipo has been the 2nd best shooting guard in the NBA this season (and better than Paul George). Pretty incredible story.

I remember I wanted him in that draft but of course he wasn’t available by the time we picked.

Victor Oladipo is single handedly killing Westbrook's reputation. Guy looked very average playing with Westbrook. He's an all star now without him. He's been phenomenal this year.

A lot of people are criticizing Westbrook this year, deservedly so.

I know people don't like Westbrook and he's an easy target but is it really that simple ?
Dipo just didn't have a good season period, shooting was very inconsistent all year
How about Presti's reputation ? All the analysts who laughed at the trade for months ? could it be the guy was motivated by those factors also returning to his home state to play and just put in the work to prove ppl wrong.... #justsaying :)

Sure, Oladipo had a bad year and can't just blame Westbrook, but I think it's becoming clear that Westbrook doesn't play well with others and standing in a corner watching Westbrook dribble isn't an easy role to fill. If thunder are gonna commit to Westbrook ball, they should load up on Danny green type players.

The problem with Oladipo last year is that he and Westbrook essentially play the same position in the same style. Westbrook and George fit well together, by contrast. They have a kind of modern Jordan-Pippen dynamic.

OKC made a mistake with Melo. They'd be better off with role players that provide depth because they don't have anything past him and Adams. Keeping McDermont and Kanter would've made them a more well-rounded team.

That's why I was saying that the narrative of Westbrook not having any help last year was silly.
There were solid players on the team that just weren't put in position to contribute. Westbrook only needs teammates to get 10 assists, then he prefers audience.

I think OKC would actually be better if Paul George was the focal point of the offense. Run plays that get him the ball in good scoring positions. Let Westbrook do his thing in transition, when plays break down and maybe in other small doses to keep the defense honest, otherwise get the ball to George. He's a much more efficient scorer.

Side note: is there any chance George stays in OKC? I think they need to do some damage in the playoffs for him to consider it. If OKC is a 7-9 seed and either misses the playoffs or is bounced in round 1, George ends up in LA for sure.

I think George is going to leave OKC. Even if they are good this year, he just won't get the touches and usage that he is accustomed to. And OKC won't be a real contender this year, not with Golden State, Houston, and San Antonio all better than they are.
