Like I said in another post, this isn't factoring in the other picks, cap space or trade possibilities that the Suns could do to make Doncic and the rest of the team even more ideal.

Also, if the Suns fall, Doncic and his agent can make it possible for Doncic to land with the Suns through influence. Theoretically, the Suns could pick Ayton #1 and promise to move into the top 5 through trade to get Doncic to drop to them. Seems highly unlikely, but possible, in a "so you're saying there's a chance" sort of way.

Doncic's agent, Bill Duffy, wants him to go to the Suns with coach Kokoskov:

Funny. I see articles about the best fit for players.

Ayton--Phoenix
Doncic--Phoenix
Young--Phoenix
Bamba--Phoenix
Bagley--Phoenix

Something is happening here.

I sure would love to do whatever I could to put together a trade to walk away with a combo of two players.
Doncic and Bamba or Carter
Ayton and Young
Bamba and Young

The "laughingstock of the league" and "nobody wants to come here" storyline is changing. Players like the Jackson and Booker combo. They also like the Kokoskov angle.

Or all have some type of connection to Phx and/or think the Suns will have the #1 pick.
Can the Suns somehow get 2 of these?

Yeah, all we have to do is not trade for Brandon Knight. :?

I think draft fatigue has set on for me. Most articles and podcasts now seem to completely shit on each of the top prospects.

And all seem to have obvious flaws. I can't even decide who is the safest choice. I think the top prospects will be solid players with high floors but most talk now just seems to be of how they won't turn into stars. It's weird because aren't these the same people who told us this was the best drafts in years.

I'm drowning here.

Can I ask since we are so sure the Suns will get screwed in the lottery, is there anyway to put money on it?

I'm not nearly as excited about these prospects as I was about 6-7 of them last year. Last year I loved Tatum and Fox, knew Jackson, DSJ, Ball and Fultz (njury not withstanding) would be very good. This year I just don't know....I want to really like Doncic but I have some reservations about his position here. I'm not convinced Ayton is a franchise changing big. Same for Bamba, JJJ or Bagley.

This draft is nearly as deep as last year, but has a much higher ceiling in the top 8 players. It's a better draft than last year and maybe the best since the MJ draft. It's a good draft to have picks all over.

It's not as good as some we're expecting this time last year. There was 5 supposed franchise players at the top (Ayton, Doncic, Bagley, Porter, Bamba). All, except maybe Doncic, have seen their stock drop a bit.

Ayton has some motor concerns and he's got defensive concerns.

Even Doncic saw his 3pt% drop pretty significantly.

Bagley was billed as a possible KG clone, but he's nowhere near the playmaker or defender of KG.

Porter got hurt and we haven't seen him healthy in a year.

Bamba had a so-so freshman year, specifically offensively. Although from an article on the ringer, it looks like he's putting in a lot of work and really improving his game.

I still think all these guys are great prospects and I'd add JJJ to that list as well, but none are can't miss. Still a great draft and has some depth to it as well.

A 3pt slump is going to give GMs second thoughts about drafting him?

Did you see where I said everyone but Doncic has seen their stock drop?

I found this in another board, how much stock can we put on it?
Because it basically says that we shouldn’t worry about shortcomings on Luka’s athleticism.
Luka's athleticism

Luka was at P3 when he was 17. Check the data bellow. It’s obvious that him being non athletic is vastly exaggerated, with some decent NBA training he’ll be above average athlete, I’m sure of it.

Luka has the standing reach info – 8’9.5" , which would make his wingspan at 6’11", which ain’t half bad for a guard.

Link:

Congratulations to P3 athlete Luka Doncic for being named the unanimous EuroLeague Rising Star Trophy for the 2016-17 season. Luka has put together one of the greatest seasons by a teenager in European basketball history. Not only did Doncic become the youngest player to ever claim MVP of the Round honors in the EuroLeague, he went on to do so four times this season (second most of any player) and helped lead Real Madrid to the Final Four next week in Istanbul. Luka has spent a few weeks at P3 the past two summers. Luka combines outstanding anthropometric measurements, including an 8’9.5" standing reach (88th percentile for NBA guards) and 228.8 lbs of mass with very competitive and improving movement qualities. In the lateral plane, Luka’s ability to abduct the hip (1 dev above the mean) allows him to generate Force more efficiently than most NBA players that we’ve assessed (71st percentile in lateral acceleration). He’s become particularly adept in a change-of-direction environment, where his Slide Agility times outpace most NBA Guards tested at P3 and they’ve improved by roughly 0.25s in the past year. Vertically, Luka ranks better than 73% of NBA guards in height touched during the approach and his improved his countermovement jump by 2 inches in the past year. He’s good now, he’s still getting better, and he’s well within his physical development window!

I think Doncic is starting to emerge as the consensus #1, with Ayton as a pretty awesome consolation prize at #2.
