I feel really, really optimistic about this team this year. I'm sure they'll kill my optimism about 10 games in but I'm enjoying the high hope for now.

Zach Lowe on Rubio signing: I was a bit puzzled by the choice; three years seems like too much since Rubio isn’t an ideal fit next to Booker because he struggles as an off-ball shooter.
If only Jeremy Lin had been available! Or Derrick Rose!

Just read that the Suns strength of schedule is tied for #1 with OKC. So that doesn't help us any either.

That seems to be the case every year... or the longest road trips.. or the most miles traveled. Just lucky maybe

Well when you’re the worst team in the best conference...

No need to poke fun of SDC here, it's something many of us are wondering. How will he fit next to Booker on offense? On paper he appears to be a decent fit next to him on defense because he actually defends. It's the #1 question I have about this coming season. My #2 question is, "Is Ayton just a more athletically gifted Enes Kanter?" There are a ton of similarities and not all of them are good. Plus he talks & talks & talks... just like Kanter, too.

Regarding Ayton- I had a similar impression of him last off-season. I can’t stand listening to him being interviewed. My expectations for him are to be a decent starter that we hopefully can build around. For the suns, that’s a massive improvement over their other draft choices. What a ridiculously bad stretch of lottery picks—I agree with the polish Hammer I’m putting a ton of the blame for the last 5 years solely on the shoulders of the front office.

I’m really looking forward to this season - I may even try NBA league pass ... for the first month at least. I’m not that optimistic about where we will finish but it will be nice to have (what should be) a reasonably coherent and cohesive team.

Lowe will understand soon enough.
lowe must have missed the fiba world cup mvp performance by rubio. the game against australia ruined his 3pt percentage overall (before that game he shot something like 47% on threes)

That is really what it comes down to, just by the math. It seems that way for the last several years because we have been the worst.

Even optimistically, it would be surprising for them to win more than 3 games of their first 10.

Kings
@ Denver
Clips
Jazz
@ Warriors
@ Memphis
76ers
Heat
Brooklyn
Lakers

On paper, only Memphis seems like a pretty good chance at a win. I assume they surprise one team in there, too. I am hoping for 4-5 wins, but expecting 3.

We're going 7-3 and will be the talk of the NBA after 2 weeks.

I think if you put $1000 on that you could walk away with a year's pay.

They’ll beat the Kings, Grizz, Heat, Nets and Lakers

5-5

Maybe it is just me, but Kyrie seems like he always has something to prove against the Suns. Curious if his splits against us are better.

And I think the Lakers will be a lot better early in the year before AD or Lebron get injured. I expect them to try and jump out early.

I hope you’re right. Just touched down in Vegas. I’ll be putting my bet on the Suns over on wins today. Thinking about doing my same bet on under with the Knicks to balance it out like last year. My luck, the Suns will get it and the Knicks will surpass expectations. Feels like a good bet to me though as I saw the Knicks line was at 27.5.

Why are you expecting 3 wins when only 1 seems likely?
