The Bucks are boycotting game 5 because of the shooting of Jacob Blake

Wow.

I’m not sure what difference it will make, but that is a statement.

Will they forfeit game 5? Or is it just postponed?

If it’s just postponed, I don’t see how it makes any impact or puts any pressure on Milwaukee’s owner to use his position to influence change.

Wow. Big statement by the players. I wonder if it will have an impact. Will it get people to pay attention? Bold and courageous move by the players, at the very least.

They should stop playing. Unfortunately, racists don't care much for the NBA.

My quick playoff predictions, with the usual caveat that I'm horrible at predictions:

First round:
...
Pacers over Heat in 7 <==
...
NAILED IT

I think it is as much about the handling of the aftermath as it is the shooting. Especially what happened last night.

Are the Playoffs going to be cancelled all together?

I'm not sure how that would work. How much money would the players be giving up?

Wouldn't be just Playoff money? About the same amount that the non-playoff teams are giving up, no?

Yeah but this is a bit different since it would affect the revenue of the entire league.

Surely the NBA wouldn't fine every player for each game they sit out, but it's like borderline self immolation.

With how well the bubble is doing, I can't think of a better platform. I mean, what good is it to have messages on the backs of the jersey or written on the floor if you don't live it.

I agree, but I also think boycotting is sending a good message.

The problem with this situation is knowing when it's acceptable to start playing again because there won't be a clearly defined turning point.

The Bucks should forfeit the game. Plain and simple.

It was pretty clear to me his last step was unnatural and intentional.
Yeah, with his history, I can't give him the benefit of the doubt. This is the type of thing that doesn't happen, when coming up to guard someone. If it was a bang bang play where someone was stepping back as they don't see a person or if someone was making a move to the basket, you could see how it would be unintentional. This wasn't like that at all. He knew exactly where he was.
He needs to be suspended for this in my opinion.

Yep, like FVV said, you've got to put your balls on the line.

Kenny walks off the set in solidarity with the players. Nice move.

exactly. Makes what Kaepernick did FOUR YEARS AGO TODAY really stand out. Talk about putting your balls on the line.
