Phoenix Suns guard Isaiah Thomas will donate 300 backpacks to Valley youth at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix, IG Homes branch.

The backpacks will be filled with essential school supplies including notebooks, markers, glue sticks, rulers and more. Following the donation, the new Suns guard will sign autographs and interact with the children in attendance.

Thomas grew up attending the Boys & Girls Clubs in his hometown of Spokane, Washington and chose to donate to the organization because of his childhood ties.

Yeah, that's pretty awesome to do that for his new community. Especially before he's even played a single minute for the Suns. It's refreshing after Bledsoe's "me me me" behavior and seeming inability to show gratitude towards his team or community even after a year of being here.

Agree. Starting to really like the guy already for the person he seems to be off the court. Not enough athletes involved in the community on a regular basis. Whether they like it or not, they are role models for a lot of kids and young adults. It's hard to not like a guy like Isaiah Thomas.

"When I was growing up, we didn't have nothing like this," said Bledsoe, who played his collegiate basketball at Kentucky. "I just wanted to give back. As far as popularity, I'm not worried about that. I just want these kids to have something to look forward to."

The point guard for the Phoenix Suns said he was peppered with questions from the campers.

"I just walked in and they want to know, 'How is it playing in the NBA?'" he said. "I tell them what it takes to make it. To give these kids this kind of wisdom, it means a lot to me."

Suns front office has said over and over again how pleased they are with Eric as a person and as a basketball player. I am sure they are sincere. He seems to be a great guy.

That is why this situation is so mystifying and frustrating.

Phoenix Suns guard Isaiah Thomas underwent a successful arthroscopy of his left wrist on Thursday, the team announced. He is expected to participate fully in the team's training camp.

I think last year or two years ago one of the front office guys at the Pacers was talking about how tough the Pacers' schedule was. Larry Bird picked up the schedule, looked it over and said "41 home game, 41 away games...looks about right to me."

So 80% of times we play away the home team has had equal or more rest than Phoenix.

And at home it's not good either. 2/3 of games come after equal or less rest than the opposite team.

Clippers probably have the worst from a fatigue standpoint.

Well. I just keep checking in every once-in-a-while now to see if something has happened with Eric. The NBA is practically dead at this point. Everyone is on vacation. Suppose I should expect nothing until early October.

I saw today that Green was like 3 for 31 from 3 in the final 3 minutes of games. Marcus was 1 for 19 in the same time.

And remember, "the final 3 minutes of games" isn't always clutch time. Sometimes it's garbage time.
