Counting stats wise maybe, but he’s at career best efficiency levels and he’s on the 1 seed. I would put Sabonis above him too, but I don’t think KAT is undeserving. I think there’s an argument that he’s above PG

They're clearly rewarding players on teams with good records. You know that if the Hawks were the #2 seed in the East and Trey Young were putting up exactly the same stats, he'd be an All-Star. Vice versa, if Minny were a play-in team and KAT had the same stats, he'd be out. It is what it is.

Yes, he's on the 1 seed, but what efficiency levels are you talking about? I'm not seeing these career numbers efficiency wise that you're speaking of.

He had a TS% of .646 in 2017-18 season and .642 in '19-20

I suppose it's close enough to those, just like .640 in '21-22. Probably just because his rebounds and assists are down. I just think he’s been very good in his role. I also wouldn’t have a problem with him left off. I wasn’t expecting him to make it. I’d definitely take Sabonis over him.

When you put a lot of good players on a team together, sacrifices are made. We keep hoping for Beal to find his spot in the offense and his numbers to tick up. I think they will eventually, but it feels like Kevin Young needs to tweak the offense a bit to help him out. I still think they could use more weakside actions. There is still too much standing around on the weak side, imo.

I'd bet either Sabonis or Fox were on just about every ballot, but they ended up splitting votes because they likely don't warrant 2 all stars and both are deserving.

I think that’s right. Fox has struggled recently with a shoulder injury, but both he and Sabonis are more worthy of the ASG than KAT to me.

Tbh, it feels like there are a lot more snubs this year than any year I can remember. You could almost have 3 teams.

I don’t think there are any significant snubs. There are only 12 spots and a lot of guys are in the same tier on a night to night basis. I don’t have a problem with anyone who’s been selected so far.

It’s crazy that they don’t expand it to 13 spots to at least match the active spots on normal teams.
I suspect the owners are against it because of the salary implications of more all stars.

I think they should go to 4 teams once they expand to 32 teams. Four teams of 8. Make them All-division teams.

Personally, I would reduce it to 10 slots on each team, and I would be pretty strict about eligibility. You aren't an all-star unless you've played at least 75% of the games and your team has won more than 50% of its games.
It's just tough in the NBA because there are always so many really good players, but the truly great players stay great for so long. It feels wrong to leave out HOF guys like Curry just because his team sucks, but it also feels wrong to leave out Fox because he's obviously as good as several of the guys who made it. I would "solve" the snub drama by shrinking the pool of eligible players and the number of seats.
