It’d be nice if Ayton just absolutely dominated the boards. He can do that. Was nice to see him doing that at the end.

Ayton mostly played trashed but he did have key plays at the end to help win this game.
12 rebounds in 20 minutes - he was the main reason the Suns erased that huge rebounding deficit.
Yep. Also the tip-in to give the Suns the lead.

Credit to him, he really improved his rebounding after a shaky start and that was a factor in the Suns winning

Ayton didn't have a great game. But you can't have it both ways. Do you want him to play on his gimpy ankle and have a mediocre night? Or do you want him to keep sitting out? I was happy to have him out there; he brings a lot of elements we don't have without him.

With this win we are in 10th place in the West, 1 game behind San Antonio (8) and 0.5 games behind Portland (9). This was a big win for us if we want to scrape back into a playoff spot.

Let's face it - the most important thing tonight? No Frank Kaminsky.

Need to compliment Ayton on those offensive rebounds in the 4th--it was a cruical moment, and he came up big. Here is hoping it gives him confidence to get engaged in the game.

Ayton needs to play tonight “and see how his ankle responds.” Nut up and play though it. You had 25 games off. Your team needs you.
Have you ever had a bad ankle sprain?
I’ve had a basketball ankle sprain. Not sure if it compares to Aytons. Hard to say. But I’ve also never been a number one pick or made millions of dollars or a suspension for an illegal substance. I also never forget to box out my man. Never.

For what its worth--Carter had a +/- of -14 in 9 minutes. Rubio was +21.

Saric needs to pull out of his little funk lately. 1/12 FG for 2 points in the last two games.

The overreaction I was reading in this thread about Ayton was down right silly. This is only his 3rd damn game and just fresh off an ankle injury. He’s out of tuned with every one and trying figure out how to fit in.

Carter and Bridges has +/-s very reflective of their contributions tonight.

Gutsy win. Can’t believe the Blazers allowed it to happen.

Great games from Oubre and Booker. Would have liked to see more Cam. Not sure why he didn’t get more time especially with how bad Bridges was on D...

Bridges was pretty bad on D. He’s looked bad lately. Not sure what’s going on with him but he looks like he’s on skates out there.

The bench guards are brutal right now. Brutal. No consistency.

Saric? What’s his deal? We have enough other problems

Also has Rubio forgotten how to throw a lob?

Ayton....sigh.

I’m trying to remain positive. He’s playing. He’s logging minutes. He seems to be able to move his extremities freely. His jersey looks nice...

You get the point. I’m glad he back so he can be evaluated but 19 of those 20 mins were about the 19 shyest minutes I’ve ever seen. He had a couple of nice tips on the offensive glass but I mean he didn’t box out a single time in the first half.

I’ll save further critiques if things don’t improve. Glad he’s healthy enough to play

Umm, Bridges had the 2nd highest +/- on the team (+18) tonight and had some clutch plays in the 4th. And Rubio was the highest at +21. You're kind of stretching and nitpicking just to pick.

I’ll take that criticism- I might be irrationally critical of Ayton over the next few games/years. :D I would love nothing more than to just have to eat crow about him every game.

Very, very satisfying.
Calls evened out after the brutal first half.
As for Bridges, he's looked fairly good in recent games,
Not sure what the kvetch is about...

Yeah, Bridges' D looked good to me tonight. Had a really nice contest on Carmelo in the 4th and beat him down the floor for a layup immediately after.
