Well the Clips are making Luke Kennard available....
Weren't we known to have shown interest in him in the past?

Yea we've kicked the tires on him before which is why I mentioned him.

The real question is: Would Monty want him as a son-in-law?

We tried to acquire him in 2020. Fell through.

I would LOVE to acquire Kennard. Dude is one of the best 3-point shooters in the NBA. He'd be a great fit on a team that has guys who suck in defenses on the P&R or can nail mid range shots. His defense is sub-par, but given how BAD the Suns second unit was last year on offense, I think we need some floor spacing. (44.9% from 3-point range is insane).

I think we have our version of Kennard in Landry. Kennard is a better shooter. Shamet is a better defender. Neither is great at breaking down defenses and attacking the basket.

Kennard was getting targeted badly towards the end of last season and his salary is pretty high. I don't think he makes a ton of sense with our roster makeup. Definitely a JJ type.

I was surprised to see that 1/3 of all of his 2pt shots are unassisted. Not surprised to see that 91% of his 3s are assisted.

That’s the most flex shit to say… just commenting on a comment he made that he got from another comment.

I'd guess nobody. Not saying someone won't make more space, just don't see anyone who'd want him on the max now.

What if he doesn't get a max offer and just gets something like 120/4? Think Jones would be happy to pay him that?

And I guess that talk for CamJ and the #7 pick was real. Sounds like it didn't work out, but those talks were going on.

30m/per is basically Ayton's actual value to the Suns. Dunno if if DA turns up his nose at that.

Would be pretty damn hilarious if the end result is Ayton re-signing for a less than max contract. I'd love to keep him around on that kind of deal as long as he doesn't pout about it.

Spurs looking like a potential match with DA.

I honestly don't. I don't think Jones values the C position more than 15-20m per if that. We shall see.

You would love to keep him for $30,000,000 per year? Where did this come from? But for $32,775,000 you want to discard him like yesterday's garbage?

Not wanting him on a max contract isn't treating him like garbage. Stop with the hyperbole already.

An average of $30M/year is a good deal, IMO. It's a much bigger difference in annual salary when compared to the 5-year max.
