I'm very skeptical at anything this front office does, so while I think the extra experience is nice, I need to see results on the basketball court before I start to get excited.

What do you prefer? By all accounts, this is universally viewed as a great hire. With a 5 year commitment showing stability. I swear, some fans are never happy with anything we do.

Sounds like a great guy. Five years? Nobody lasts five years around here. 3 would be very optimistic IMO.

Monty is an outstanding guy. I just hope since being fired by the Pelicans he has learned from Pop and Brett Brown how to get your franchise big guy the f*** ball.

The 5 year contract tells me he was Jones' guy all along and that the second meeting was about selling Sarver on Monty and not Monty on the Suns.

He can't possibly be as bad as Igor in regard to that.

At least we finally have an excellent communicator. And communication was the main reason Igor had to be fired, from I've read.

If Sarver can stay the hell out of the way we may be half a chance of doing something. I think Monty will be a solid coach which is a step up from what we've had

That video is very touching. I promise this is not the first thing I thought of, but I was thinking about it some more and Durant seemed to have a very close relationship with Monty. I wonder if there is any way Monty could get a meeting with Durant this summer?

Good to see JJ got his man.. We all criticise Sarver a lot but he's not appearing to undermine or restrain JJ from doing what he wants so how this all turns out has to be squarely on Jones.

Regardless of if you think Monty is (or can be) a great coach, I would like to have a FO that is allowed to hire who they want, draft who they want, and bring in who they want. You really need your FO to be on the same page with your coaching staff. That is a good sign for Phoenix

The Suns got a lot of love for this move on NBA Countdown tonight and they were saying things are so bad in Lakers land that Phoenix is in a better situation than them.
