Okobo has been pretty good this year
He deserves the backup PG job.

They came out a bit shaky in the opening minutes of the 1st, but the defense was markedly better. Hopefully the team (and Ayton himself) doesn't forget what he was doing in the opening quarter.

Ayton has also been nice tonight. We’ve done better getting him involved offensively.

Bridges needed to dump it off to a wide open Ayton for a dunk.

Ayton 6 FGA in the 1st quarter, 0 in the 2nd.

They just stopped feeding him the ball.

Ayton showing some fire there going into the timeout. GOOD.

Ayton got caught watching on the glass and Giles got some boards and a putback. Ayton fought back on the offensive end grabbing 2 ORs before getting fouls, then went cursing to the bench and kicking a chair.

Book needs to try harder to get the ball to Ayton on screen and rolls, and Ayton needs to help by creating better angles. imo

14 pts on 7/8 shooting for Ayton. Yeah let's keep feeding him.

They went 11:30 into the 2nd period before getting him a shot in the quarter.

This is what people are talking about. We had some silly reactions in other thread as if the case was being made that Ayton sucks at rebounding. At this point, the box score says Ayton has 7 rebounds; that is tremendous. But the boxscore won't tell you what Shel just referenced.

I went back and looked at the play, and it looked much worse in real time than it actually was imo. The first board Ayton had no chance - it was a quick bounce to the right. Giles went up with a ludicrously quick attempt that was basically a gimme and it just barely rolled off. - I thought it was going in watching live. Not saying that Ayton couldn't have been better there, but it wasn't as terrible as I thought.

He won't get hate when he's doing what we all expect him to do... This is a game for him to grow from.

Trevor Ariza single-handedly getting the Kings back in it.
