Sounds like we pretty much need to win out to have a chance.

That doesn't bode well if I remember right. I think we were in a tough stretch.
I don’t think the schedule will follow any previous schedule.
Did you read the article? It lays it out.

Haha, nope I did not. Though that schedule looks about as good as it can. I’d take some games against the 5 we’re chasing, but no Lakers, Rockets, Nuggets, Jazz, Bucks, Raptors is pretty nice.

True but all pretty good teams except for the Wizards who we lost to.

when you are 21st out of 22 teams, pretty much everyone is better than you. :P

True, but none of the bad teams are playing, so everyone will have a tough schedule

I'm sure we could beat ourselves. I've seen it plenty of times over the years.

Dallas Mavericks (40-27) — 7th seed in Western Conference

Suns record vs. DAL: 1-1
The first game, Dallas was at full strength that I can tell. The Suns were missing Ayton, and played Tyler Johnson who was a -17 in this game, Aron Baynes first and only game back after injury where he missed the 5 games prior and then he missed the next 4 games afterwards. He was still clearly hurt even though he played decently this game. This was also right in the time period that Booker was playing with the wrist injury and his 3 pt shooting went into the tank.
Suns crushed the Mavs in Dallas in the latest meeting, but it can be argued that Dallas was exhausted going into it. Dallas didn't have Powell either, nor would they in this tournament.
I think the Suns would match up well with them.

Los Angeles Clippers (44-20) — 2nd seed in Western Conference

Suns record vs. LAC: 1-2
The first game was early in the season when the Suns started off hot. Booker had a great game, when the Suns were missing Ayton & Rubio. Clippers were missing George.
The second game was the first game back for Ayton, who then rolled his ankle and was out again. It was also without Booker or Cam, while the Clips were at full strength. Also, Monty played Okobo & Carter almost 24 minutes each in this one, which is a huge indicator that it was a loss.
The third game the Clippers were at full strength, while the Suns were missing Oubre and Kaminsky. It was closer than the 2nd game, but still a double digit loss.

Dallas Mavericks (40-27) — 7th seed in Western Conference

Suns record vs. DAL: 1-1
See above.

Indiana Pacers (39-26) — 5th seed in Eastern Conference

Suns record vs. IND: 0-1
Cam, Baynes and Kaminsky missed this one, and Indy was missing Oladipo. This was just a complete beatdown by Indy.
Not feeling great about this matchup, unless the Suns get hot from the outside with their shooters back.

Washington Wizards (24-40) — 9th seed in Eastern Conference

Suns record vs. WAS: 0-1
The Suns were missing Ayton and Baynes, while the Wiz were without Wall(obviously). The Suns just crapped the bed in this one, as they should have won, but didn't play their best. Once again they had no answer for Suns killer Thomas Bryant and the PnR that Washington ran.
Not sure how the Suns handle this one. Washington is tough as they really spread the floor well, and is why I would love the Suns to get a shooting specialist at PF like Bertans.

Phildelphia 76ers (39-26) — 6th seed in Eastern Conference

Suns record vs. PHI: 1-0
The Suns were without Ayton, while the Sixers were without Embiid. This was also the first loss of the season by the Sixers, but we also found out that they weren't so great on the road. Devin seems to love to play the Sixers, as he nearly always cooks them. I remember that Horford had a great game here.
Not sure how the Suns will do in this match up. Even?

Miami Heat (41-24) — 4th seed in Eastern Conference

Suns record vs. MIA: 0-1
The Suns were missing Ayton, and Miami was at full strength. Felt like Booker took Herro lightly, while Jimmy cooked the Suns in the first half just clowning them and doing anything he wanted, and Goran picked it up from Jimmy in the second half. Duncan Robinson had weird +29, while Bridges had a -28 as an odd stat for the game.
Tough matchup for Phoenix, but curious of an Ayton vs. Bam matchup.

Oklahoma City Thunder (40-24) — 5th seed in Western Conference

Suns record vs. OKC: 0-2
The first game, Booker was just coming back from injury on his wrist and still wasn't totally right. The Suns were missing Ayton, while OKC was missing Dort. IIRC, the 3 headed guards of OKC cooked the Suns, with Schroeder and SGA putting up 24 & 32, while Gallo had a good game w/ 22, it wasn't a good game for the Suns.
The second game, Booker did better, but was worn down by Dort hanging on him all game. Phoenix was missing Baynes, Cam and Kaminsky. Oubre had a good game, but Devin was just out of gas at the end and couldn't close it. Paul was Paul at the end and just masterfully executed to pull this out. Once again, Gallo, SGA and Schoeder are a bad matchup for the Suns and point to the Suns needing a good PF and backup PG.

Phoenix went a combined 4-9 against those opponents this year.
I think the Suns were 3-8 against these opponents, but who's counting?

Pelton just told Burns and Gambo that he did 500 simulations and the Suns made the playoffs only 1 time, but I don't think he factored in the team being full strength and how that would effect them.

I can’t wait to see which players ate their way through the break and who is fit.

Ooooh, that's a very underrated plot, first time I have read about it, but I will love the uncalled comedy coming in from it.

I would guess that 7 weeks is enough time to gain a proper level of conditioning.
