Strange for Nader to still be in concussion protocol, no?
I don't think so. His head had vicious collision with court. It was scary.

I agree. Plus no reason to rush him back. We have plenty of guards. Moore can’t even get in.

I don't know what the hell happened to Jevon in Sacramento.
He really isn't a good player. He has flashed some utility here and there, but I don't know if he'll ever be a consistent, productive role player.

He didn't have a single negative plus/minus in the bubble. His average was like +9. I am willing to give him a couple more games to see if he can start hitting his shots, considering he shot so great last year.
His "great" shooting came at a rather low volume. It's like praising him as a game's best shooter when he goes 1/2 from the 3-point line, but Cam goes 4/9.

Bubble was a mirage and completely different than how he played before or after
I agree that his bubble performance gets overrated and his performance before it was unremarkable at best.

Just curious. Would you guys trade Ayton straight up for Trae Young right now?

Yes. And I don't like Trae Young as much as most people.
I feel the same way, FF. I don't love him, but fully acknowledge he is an incredible player. Atlanta is now 3-0, btw.

100%, but I’d trade Ayton for a lot of people, haha. I wouldn’t keep Trae though. I’d ship him elsewhere for something that fits better.

Trae Young is going to get more All-NBA votes than Ayton will get allstar votes. You could trade Young for almost anyone in the NBA.

The real question is who won the draft night trade with Dallas. Young + Reddish both look better than I thought they would be.

Dallas won, Luka is a generational talent. He’s already better than Trae will ever be.

Luka is great, but I think you are undervaluing Trae. I wouldn't ignore 30/9. So far, Trae has been a much better shooter and gets more assists. Luka is better around the rim, is a better rebounder, and is a less terrible defender. Obviously, Luka is playing for a much better coach.

Cam played 40% more minutes per game than Carter. I would hope he took more shots. I am not saying that Carter is great. I said his 3P% and defense were great for us. And he definitely upped it in the bubble, and it likely isn't sustainable at those minutes. But I am not writing him off as a 10 mpg backup 3-D guard.

True, but if I have to win a game in the playoffs, I am going with Luka every day over Trae.

Same as others have said. No question, and I am not a huge fan of his anyway. Hell, I said I would trade Ayton for SGA. :)

Hmm, I’m not saying Trae isn’t good, but he’s like a top 20 guy, Luka is a top 3 guy. All I have to do is give up cam reddish to make that switch? I wouldn’t spend any time at all to make that call.

without actually watching over the games, going off the top of my head I think Jevon in the bubble was just knocking down his shots mainly on spot ups after ball movement. he has miss some open looks but also feels like he has taken more off the dribble and used the step back in these first three games which isn't doing his percentages any favours either

I'm just thinking about how much we blew that draft when we FINALLY got the number 1 overall pick. Two players that we should have drafted over Ayton. (I personally wouldn't have drafted anybody else in that draft over Ayton.) Doncic is definitely a generational talent that we missed out on. Colangelo would have picked him, I believe (We never have had that dominant center in his prime and it's looking like we still won't). Damn you McD and Sarver!

Ya, I can’t say much though as I was fine with the Ayton pick. I was pretty indecisive though and had Ayton, Luka, and JJJ all at #1 at times on my board. Turns out taking Ayton over Luka was obviously a mistake, even at the time, not just in hindsight, but I think Ayton over Trae is only proving to be a mistake in hindsight.

In a redraft, where does Ayton go? Probably 5th? Maybe 6th?

Luka
Trae
SGA
JJJ
MPJ
Ayton

Would Bridges be next?

Bridges, Mitchell Robinson, and Bagley are all probably right behind him with a chance to pass. Collin Sexton makes the top 10.
