Why is Obi Toppin not playing? He's averaging 11 minutes a game. Strange for a #8 pick but no worse than Smith I guess.

I am not one to look at what others have when judging mine, but there is a Jalen Smith situation and it is starting to irk me. The coach needs to play him if he is available. There is no way he is worse than Jones; and even if he is, it is a growing pain you need to endure strategically from a franchise standpoint. We just can't afford to waste one year of a lotto pick development.

Because they have 85 bigs and Thibs plays Randle 43 minutes a night.

I wouldn’t mind taking a flyer on Kevin Knox.

He must have been watching Cam the other night.

Rose looked good last night for the Knicks but it was also his first game and he hadn't played for the Pistons the last 3-4 games so he was fresh. Pistons were limiting him to 23 mpg so we'll see if Thibs sticks to that and he may end up starting over Elf eventually. Toppin was injured early on and then had trouble working into the offense, which they feel Rose may help with. His defense, a noted weakness, hasn't been great either. Knicks wouldn't give up Knox in the Rose deal so not sure what it would take to get him. Don't think the Knicks love him but won't give him away either.

Monty addressed Smith not playing the other night and it makes sense wanting to bring him along slowly this year. Maybe he's being too cautious or maybe Smith really can't play yet. Too early to tell if he's a bust.

Derrick Rose has had such a strange career. I have thought of him as washed up / done in my head for years now, but I go look at his Basketball Reference page and find that he has averaged 18 ppg in both 2018-19 and 2019-20, along with around 5 assists. It's a shame that he has been toiling away on crappy teams like Minnesota and Detroit. Seems like he would be a great bench microwave guard for a contender.

Thibs is also pressuring Knicks brass to bring in Deng, Noah, Boozer, and Gibson.

Gibson is there now. Knicks re-signed him Jan. 7.

Hey, SplitT, I know you are busy, but can you please sit down with the Jazz and explain to them that they can't win with Gobert on such a big contract. Maybe they just don't know. They shouldn't be winning without a stretch 5, and I would hate to see them continue to win incorrectly.

Also, someone please explain to the Nuggets that they are unstoppable with Jokic scoring so much.

They really needed Murray to play like he did in last year's playoffs. But he hasn't.

By the way, Jokic is only 18 months older than Book. I know everyone seems to have anointed Giannis as the guy that will dominate the league the next 5 years, but...

Yes, we are finally a team that can afford to bring along a player slowly unless he really deserves the minutes. I know we all want to see what we have but we'll need to be patient. Everybody has been complaining about how we develop players so let's try something different, eh?

Shaq just loves to complain about that contract and downplay Gobert's abilities.
