For the Suns, Payne, Johnson and McGee have 15, 12 and 8 off the bench, respectively ...

EJ made an interesting observation on Shamet: he's a better catch-and-shoot guy than trying to create on the move...

Ugly quarter, just wasting possessions. Pistons got hot, you know Grant's going to get his.

What happened to posting Ayton up in the lane?

What happened to Ayton's touch from 15 feet on those free throws?

One thing the Suns and I have in common; we both fell asleep in the 3rd quarter.

Good effort down the stretch, but I wish we could've rested the starters even more. Payne and Payton doesn't work.

The defensive effort just wasn't very good tonight. They're just lucky they were playing Detroit tonight.

Plus we had to listen to Tom Leander.

A less-than-enjoyable game all around.

Wow. Josh Jackson not even in the rotation.

Bridges - 41 minutes.

Suns - Best record in NBA.

Best start in franchise history.

This team is special.

18 in a row. NBA Finals last season. I'm sure Swing, MEE and anyone else we've lost over the years would be smiling ear to ear with pride. It's a great time to be a fan of such a great team during some tough times in the world these days.

It’s fun that the team gets at least one night all alone atop the West and NBA standings. No matter what happens in tomorrow’s game (I really think “schedule/injury loss”, but then I didn’t think they’d beat Brooklyn), it’s been an amazing run.

I was a little anxious during that third quarter, but in the fourth when we were close-ish, I never felt that we wouldn't win, and that's a good feeling.

Happy to see Shamet and Johnson knock down some shots. Indy is right, it feels like Shamet sucks because he misses a bunch of open threes, but he also makes a fair bit of reasonably tough ones with a hand in his face. He is very decisive when he gets the ball, a full practitioner of that 0.5 philosophy, but sometimes when he's reasonably open and the shot clock is winding down I do wish that he'd just pull up. With the wide open ones, as long as the repetition is there, I imagine his percentages will climb. Similarly with Johnson, his shooting stroke is pure and he knows what he needs to do in each situation, but I feel like he's just doubting his shot sometimes and that creates a miss during wide open situations, especially in the mid-range while he's in motion. Both guys are clearly high IQ guys and they play defense with their feet, which I really like. But given their slight frames and lack of defensive reputation they don't get the benefit of the whistle, but I don't ever worry about them being defensive sieves. In this sense I feel like this team is built to better weather Booker missing some time than Bridges.

Payne is still pressing too much. A couple of turnovers in the early part of the 4th... He really does have great chemistry with JaVale.

Good win. Onto tomorrow's rematch with the Warriors. Can't imagine Steph will be off like last game, but also can't imagine Poole and Porter being as hot as they were. Go Suns!

Suns history made tonight. Very impressive streak after the dubious 1-3 start to the season. It will be tough to continue it tomorrow on a back-to-back after a night of travel and without Book. Warriors have been just sitting at home and waiting. But this team continues to surprise so you never know.
